This is interesting. How come ya'll cook the jars in a pressure cooker after you put the spores in? I figured it would cook them. Tell me more! :D

Thanks for this info, Abbie. Fresh mushies are so nice - they can be steeped in hot water to make tea, then strained and flavored with grape juice and chilled in the fridge for a cool, refreshing drink :D

I was just keeping them in the PC for safe keeping. You PC the jars after filling with rice flour/verm. Let them cool, then stick 'em with spores. No more PC after that.

Sounds like a great way to get my day going.

Na that's fine smash it with a hammer or throw it in a food processor.. Also if you have any extra sheet rock laying around you can use that.. That is gypsum also.. Just seperate from the paper and smash it real good with a hammer.. Just look at the brands some have anti-fungicide, you don't want those.. Just cheap plain-old sheet rock from the hardware store..

I got the same bag of gypsum, Abbie, lol...
I wish I knew about the sheetrock beforehand, that would have been cheaper. Not as easy to use though, so i guess it evens out...
Looks like we're almost neck and neck here. It's like we're in a race, except in this race, everybody wins... :joint:

Cuz I'm really sorry about that.. I should have told you that but I wasn't thinking.. Yes sheet rock works very well.. But when you crush it, do it outside.. It becomes very very messy and the powder blows everywhere..It also get's into the rugs your hair and clothed and ahh! It's just a mess.. It's best to put it in something like a pillow case then put it inside a plastic store bag and whack it with a hammer.. Pulverize it really well, then bag it up for later use.. Sorry again..

79: Haha no worries, I was mostly kidding. The gypsum isn't even that expensive, and sheetrock isnt that cheap either, it's not like you can buy just a quarter sheet of drywall... Besides, what if you mess up and get the fungicidal drywall? All your hard work going to waste. I was just kicking myself for not realizing drywall is gypsum also...

Wow Abbie... Your comp screen is ZOOOOOMED in on ICMag lol... Ever thought of corrective lenses?? lol jk =P

I know, lol, I noticed that. I'm blind as a bat and got tired of squinting at the screen all the time. My screen is like the large print books at the library, lol. Oh, I'm definitely a four-eyed freak. :yoinks:
