yes, get some hydrogen peroxide 3%... dillute it with plain water at a ratio of one part h2o2 and 1 part h2o.

then with a clean cloth, clean the stuff off the main stem.

you can also spray with this solution over the soil and the plants. this will not kill powdery mildew, but will keep it in control...

however, I'd advice against spraying the whole plants now... for now, just start by wiping the stuff off with a cloth and spray the surface of the soil. do increase ventilation and dehumidification (sp?)

other than that, your ladies are looking great, they seem to love those lights

Looks great! Your colas look much fatter than what I'm currently getting on my Caseys under 1 Evo90!

What are your opinions on SCROG vs SOG under these lights?

Regards,
Dysnomia:tiphat:

Thank you but I don't think mine are much fatter mate. Take into account that in my pics there are a lot more shadows than in yours and that may be give the impression of fuller colas. I need to take a few pics under normal light next time I move the plants around.

As for the SOD vs SCROG question I don't really know. There are a few people getting good results with SCROG but IMHO these lights seem to be better suited for SOG.
If there's one plant per group of lights you can get them closer than when there's a wider canopy that calls for a more even light coverage.

Anyway I believe they're both valid methods. Probably the key is not the growing type but the light penetration. An that's why I love how you've pruned your plants, concentrating the buds at the top ang getting rid of any lower growth. In my case the prunning was on the conservative side so I ended up with wider plants that don't focus as much on their higher part, where the light is plentiful.
However in your case, having only one pannel, the SOG seems to me the way to go as plants don't grow wider than the lighted area.

Cheers!

I'll get on it straightaway bombadil.360. I'm glad there's something I can do to control this to some extent.

Thank you so much

PM

PM

PaqueteMan sorry to see that one of those beautiful girls are coming down with PM man.. nice catch tho PM does spread quickly you can also treat it with SRS that's what a friend of mine did, but in his case it was much worse.
since you caught the PM early and getting good information I bet those buds will be fine..
Happy growing :smoweed:

Thanks laughingman! Although the PM is not restricted to one plant, all but one of them show it I'm afraid. I hope it doesn't get out of control. I just followed bombadil.360's piece of advice. Let's see how it goes.

The main stem of one of the plants after they've been nursed to control powdery mildew

What you see apart from the stem -left- is the guide -center- and the humidity/ph probe -right.

Notice the tupper-ware lifting the plant's position so the top is even with the rest of the pants of the same pannel

Cheers!

Paqueteman, good, now keep a watchful eye on those plants, specially the stem.

if you see the pm come back, clean again, and then keep cleaning as a preventative every few days.

keep an eye on the leaves as well.

hopefully you'll finish flowering without it ever getting out of hand.

after you finish though, you should clean really well all your grow-space and utensils.

good luck!

Cheers bombadil, I noticed it comes back after a few days. Nevermind, I'll keep cleaning it til the grow is over.

Everytime I finnish one grow I clean my utensils with alcohol, while I use bleech for the grow-space and pots. I guess that should be enough.

Bye!

Hello there, my virtual friends

One more week here you have the grow pics from yours truly.

Things go according to plan. PM is under control so far (keeps coming back but I keep cleaning it over).

I'd like to see fuller buds but it's only 140W and I probably should have pruned more low branches when turning to 12/12. I'm afraid it's going to be a long manicuring session when this is all over...
Pistils are starting to turn amber, no surprise: it's been six weeks flowering and we're entering the rippening phase now.

Hi there!

One more week for the grow... Temperatures are in the region of 75º-80º (that's over 10º less than the previous weeks) and I think it showed on the buds. Maybe the plants were strugling all this time despite their vigorous look -just a guess...

Powdery mildew is under control but I realised the first time I cleaned the stems I actually used alcohol instead of H2O2... and it worked much better! PM comes back, as it does using H2O2, but it takes much longer. I'll keep on using alcohol (diluted in water) for this porpouse then.

And now the pictures after seven weeks flowering...

looking really good man! k+

yeah, alcohol also works, if you are only cleaning the main stalks that is. But spraying it on the plants is counter-productive as it will cleanse some of the resin off the plants.

keep up the good job man, really happy to see those evo of yours working like the should... many people got defective ones and the new generation of evos were supposed to come out half a year ago and still nothing...

keep us udapted.

peace!

BTW all this grow I had the nagging feeling that the Shiskaberries might not be really Shiskaberries. Maybe it's just the higher temperatures but their scent is not as rich nor as pervasive. We'll just have to wait and see whether they're authentic or any other variety (Critical mass perhaps?).

Cheers!

Actually -I didn't want to bring it up but now that you mention it...- the fourth group of leds of the panel that's lighting the Shiskas is aproximately half as powerful as the rest. Bummer. It shows on the pictures if you look closely. Apparently their still guaranteed so I'll try and get it fixed when this is over.

I love it when I'm right

The close ups of your buds as well as those of some of our forum-mates here make me want to jump on a plane and pay you guys a visit and try your stuff. Very nice work.

Hi there!

One more week here I am posting this week's report (the 8th BTW).

Temperatures are still in the 75º-80º region and humidity between 50% and 60%. You can tell the plants love it. They thrived most when it's been not so hot. Unfortunately August has been scorching hot this year in my area... what can you do...

Anyway I'm happy to see some progress. Let's see what you think...
