My First DWC

Quicky

Quicky

Well I have to scribble quick. This grow has turned into a full pain in the a$$. The MMI is over 3 1/2 feet tall and the net pots fall through the lids whenever I lift the lids for maintenance. I've had no choice but to stick another J-hook in the roof, pull branches together, and tie em to the roof. I'll post pics soon.

The good news is that the MMI is very healthy (that's the problem - too healthy!) and the trichs are all still totally white, and the buds are still growing. I "accidentally" broke a branch last night and copped a bit of a buzz from it! The AO is filling in, but the buds still look wispy. My last top-off incuded Lucas ratio, some Botanicare Hydroplex, a few mls of Cal-Mag. pH is good, and PPMs = about 1050. Drunk bitches are drinking like fish.

Later,
Jim

April 13th - Week 4

Well in spite of the fact that I had to hog-tie the girls, they're really packing on weight. :woohoo: From here on out I'm cutting out the GH Micro from the Lucas formula and adding only GH Bloom and Botanicare Hydroplex in the top-offs. I figure 1 1/2 - 2 more weeks and the Hydroplex will go too. They're a PITA to manage but this is by FAR the best grow I've ever produced. (Knock on woood!)

April 26th - Week 6

Well, I shot myself again - had a pretty sever case of nute burn - I simply can't seem to keep the levels properly. The MMI still looks like the buds are doing well, but not a lot of trichs forming. The AO is covered in trichs, but never really seemed to form decent sized buds. I know that the three MMI will account for most of the harvest size-wise, but I've sampled the AO - it's in another league, and I think in the future, it will Scrog well. The AO is going to be super dank smoke!

The Final Frontier

The Final Frontier

Hi All,

I'm sorry that a final report is so overdue, but I'll try to catch everyone up. Again, as usual, there's good and bad news, so I'll try and lay it out:

The Bad News:

At about Week 7, following a routine evening maintenance, I checked the cab in the morning and found that the main fan was off and the temp in the cab had spiked to 100 degrees. :fsu: I can't explain it because it was on the night before. I checked the system, restarted the fan, and temps slowly returned to normal. Unfortunately, the damage was done :yoinks: - several of the biggest bud tops of the MMI got burned and died. Combined with a recent nute burn, :yoinks: this was obviously too much to take, and the results show it. The resulting herb is almost completely devoid of THC content - on a scale of 1 - 10, it would be generous to give it a 3. I harvested this Mature Mystery Indica at about 8.5 weeks of 12/12.

The Good News:

The good news is that I had a lot of herb! See the pics, but I got 3 1/2 containers, plus 1/2 bag of trimmings from the MMI.

HOWEVER: The big success story is the Agent Orange. The AO seemed to survive both the nute burn and the temp spike (I can't freakin believe it) and produced about 3 containers and 1/4 bag of excellent quality herb. On a scale of 1 - 10, I have no reservations about a solid 8.5 - 9.0. I harvested AO at a little over Week 9, and I think that was perfect. The buds were not the most dense and solid (actualy kind of light and airy) but sticky as hell - high resin content! Even now, weeks after storage, the buds are impressively sticky, and the herb will put a knot on your head. Without a doubt, the greatest success I've ever had, and I owe it to all who helped me along the way - a big shout out, and Thank You to all who helped!

What I Learned:

(1) Start it all at the same time - the timing of the plants really made the grow hard to manage.
(2) Have easy maintenance access to the plants - two rubbermaids behind each other (total of 4) made this hard to handle. Next time, three tubs, side-by-side will likely do nicely.
(3) I'm cutting maintenance holes into the tops so that I can get a turkey baster in there for samples, and a small electric pump for water changes.
(4) The Vortek fan sounds like a jet engine, but since it's not much of a problem, it's fine for now. However, next time it might be worth checking out the Solar and Palau fans, which I've heard are extremely quiet.

So, from Top left to right, the pics are:
