Fulifilling the obligations...

Regarding the OG Kush, I believe that the 'fistful of nugs' shot is obligatory for this strain...:)

Well, what do you know? An hour after writing this, I bumped into four red deer - two with huge antlers and everything!

I got within 30m before they spotted me and scarpered, and didn't have time to take pics, but now I know they're there, I'll be ready next time.

And they haven't eaten my plants. I've now realised though that the main spot I've used appears to be one of the deer's 'bedrooms', where they all kip for the night - I found large flattened areas of bracken all around the area. So I pissed as best I could around my plants, and hope we can all agree to share the lovely space I've discovered...:)

I was just reading back through your postings and ran across this one...

Deer bedding areas are great places to do a guerilla grow. The reason the deer chose that spot is because of its minimal disturbance by people. Some bedding areas won't work obviously, but most all will not see much "human use". I dunno about red deer in the UK, but our Whitetails and Mule deer will certainly eat cannabis LOL!!!!!

Anyway, I really like your postings and have great respect for your growing skills.

I just smoked a 3 day dried bud from the bottom of that Skunk Haze I have that's on Day 72 of flower 113 from seed. A lil immature one. Smelled like hay cause it's so dinky, etc. Got a nice buzz on it. not long lasting but nice.

She still smells just mildly "skunky" in the tent. Not much resin compared to my SSH next to her. But not many strains do. Buds seem light, but firm...if that makes sense. I'll guess and say yield will be 1.5 to 2.0 oz. She might fool me though. I have zero experience on haze hybrids.

You saw my pics I think. Said it reminded you of a Skunk#1 you had at beginning of this thread? So after looking at a lot of ypour pics and comments...I'm thinking I need to let my Skunk Haze go much longer than I originally thought. She looks like she is dying since she is yellowing off top to bottom. Trics are all still very clear....so I'm just giving her water now going to week 11. That sound ok to you for now?

I LOVE the colors on some of your flo's

pedro - thanks for the kind comments, and glad you like the photos. I'm really pleased with the way most of these have turned out - I'm still learning too, and the most difficult thing is still resisting the urge to chop down! Especially on sativa-dominant strains the longer the better I think - the Malawi Gold is the longest I've let go, at 106 days of 12/12. The harvest pics for that one are here:

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=42415&page=4&pp=15

I'm going to use the deer bedding area again this year - the only problems I had were the deer walking into/sitting on the plants! Obviously they're not aware of their special significance! But they didn't eat any. I'm hoping that if I plant much earlier this year, the plants will be a lot bigger and more robust, and the deer will just have to walk round them - even they don't like woody stems...::)

26. Goldfinger (Malawi Gold X Flo), batch 1A - 74 days.

26. Goldfinger (Malawi Gold X Flo), batch 1A - 74 days.

I had to chop the Goldfinger a few days early due to space issues, and on appearance, I'd say that this would have been bang on at 77-80 days. This is the faster-flowering Goldfinger from the #1 Flo male - it's knocked a week off the previous phenos from the #2 male, which are 12-weekers. That makes a colossal four weeks knocked off the original Malawi Gold time of 15 weeks. So I'm very happy on all fronts.

The plant structure is far more Flo-leaning than Malawi (and the other Goldfinger phenos), and is almost all bud, with hardly any significant trim - again, a huge improvement over the Malawi. The calyxes are more pronounced, resin coverage is greater, and the smell is an incredible mix of floral, fruit and spice. It's somewhere between bluebells, pineapple, blueberry, ginger, vanilla, and cream - in short it's just delightful, and my favourite-smelling weed of the moment - the fact that I made this cross myself is even more satisfying.

My plan now is to take this cross to F2, and I've enlisted some help on that project - we're looking for a perfect male and one more female from the 1A batch, and we'll either use this female or a new one as the mother plant for the F2s, and then we'll really see what this can do...:chin:

Wow the Goldfinger looks amazing, definitely can see the Flo influence in that pheno, but that's no bad thing!

At this point, it's well worth a quick side-by-side comparison of this Goldfinger with my recent green pheno of Flo - amazing similarity, and shows there's definitely progress being made - Goldfinger left, Flo right:

Yes, the similarities are striking when you compare the two side-by-side. Both are beauties. Now I'm intrigued to see the J-los and see how dominant the Flo is in that cross. Would you say it was dominant in Goldfinger?

You can see the same thing here with this Blueberry F3 and the Blueberry x Zamalhaze, they had the same dad so you can see the similarities.

Moflo !

Moflo !

Hey Eman!

I thought I'll post them pics of the Moflo pheno I got last spring.
I dont remember which batch it was (will have to dig deep in my memory..), but i do remember it was one of the recent untested one.
I germed only one seed, and with my good luck it was a female!
grew very fast, before I even noticed it was already flowering, due to the fact it was grown outdoors in spring time , days were very short , which caused autoflowering. didn't even get a chance to top it!
so , it end up being a very nice pheno of the Flo, the Chocolate Thai creeped out:D in veg' , rubbing on the stalk gave an aroma of chocolatey-licorice type of mix.. later on into flowering it turned into VERY potent aroma of fine dark chocolate (like the 70-85% dark chocolate) .
very Flo'ish appearance, colorful buds, all leaves turned deep purple - almost black, with red vines (see pics below).
harvested around 70 days. trichs were milkey with a few ambers .
got about an Oz dry weight trimmed . respectable from a 1meter tall plant...
the smoke was very very smooth and tastey, I enjoyed just cutting up the bud and smelling it for a few min before i smoked it:D very very chocolatey aroma and taste.
The high was very relaxing indica stlye, makes it very easy to sit down and chill out listening to some nice tunes.. :joint: followed by munchies attack!:D
personally I really enjoyed it, and I will for sure start some more beans of it soon enough, indoors this time.
so lets see what I'll get next....
Thank you so much Eman !

BH - I would say that the Flo is more dominant in this batch, certainly. The other batch, 1B, which I grew last time, was more Malawi-dominant in overall plant shape, though the indica Flo male modified the leaf-shape and bud structure more. I had two phenos, and they were much more Malawi, but still heavily modified from the original:

Great work Zion, I love the contrast bewteen the silvery buds and the lavender leaves, those look very healthy, happy plants. I always think that the leaves standing erect and pointing upwards like that is a sign that the plant is happy with the PH level of her rootzone.

I am gonna have to find space for some Goldfinger soon. I also have some Malawi Gold x C99 beans made by a friend in Cali back in 2005 so i could do a side-by-side.

The 1B batch certainly looks more Malawi leaning. I have kind of given up my work on my Blueberry x Zamalhaze cross as there is too much variation in the F1s, there are many phenos and although all of them are fantastic, I don't have the resources to linebreed something so unstable and varied. By comparison, the Goldfinger is much more uniform.

Funny you should mention Thais Lougrew, I have three Thai plants grown from seeds kindly gifted to me by EM, thee are from the monster Thai sticks wrapped in red thread. They are 30 days old, grown 12/12 from seed in 0.7 litre pots of coco, when they show sex and begin floweering I will repot them into 1.5 litre pots. There are at least two phenos here, the tall, really lanky one is probably a male. Of the two shorter, stockier ones, oen is really nice, has strong branching and is quite stocky for a Thai type. Fingers crossed this is a female and doesn't hermie as from the looks of things, could be a keeper.

Perhaps it would be interesting to cross this Thai to the Flo which is largely composed of Thai genes in the first place.

Thanks! very glad you guys like it!
It was grown with lots of love and respect from its farmers..pampering under the sun of the holy land, soaking the vibes of zion from the sun rays and the fresh mountin air:rasta:

I found another pic I took of the same Moflo above, in veg, before she turned all colorful and beautiful:D look at that vigor...!

Beautiful beautiful pics Eman and BH!!!
Eman - the Malawi pheno is just awesome, I deff' should throw some Goldfinger in my next cycle. I really like your topping technique, it is a true art.

BH - you really should cross that special Thai with Flo, it will for sure bring out some very interesting patterns. Love those shark-teeth leaves!

I see we are talking foxtail buds over here,
So I thought I'll also contribute some pics of the Ethiopian Highland I had going outdoors for a very very very long time, I stopped counting at some point, and just let it ripe till my eyes+scope said it is ready enough for me..
it was amazing how much it stretched once it start flowering, really ridiculous lol, stretched another 25-30cm within few weeks.
classic oldschool ganja aroma, my nose says 'PINE!'..very piney, with some lemony undertones in some buds.
high is obviously very heady and trippy, I found myself many times dizzy feeling my blood pressure funny.....The high lasts a long time, and leaves you with puffy red eyes and a dumb grin...:D...usually feel like taking a weed-nap after I smoke a lot of it.

(sorry for the shitty nug shots!)

but here's some quality pics of the Ethiopian girl in veg!..

and here's a topped one,
how it was topped is actually pretty funny - because of the location it was in outdoors, our neighbors have some unique pets that are running around the area....now, one day I went to water the girls, and what do I see?? one of our neighbor's pets - a GOAT - munching on the fresh lush green top leaves of the Ethiopian girls!!! Lucky I came there in time before the wanked animal would have chunk the whole plant lol. Instead it only managed to top it, quite perfectly I must say frankly lol. god bless that goat hehe.
here it is:

Peace to you all..much love over here..
