Sorry to hear it Dan , Im in the same situation myself. Didnt post anything but I wanted too. My friend had liver cancer 2 yrs ago and they said he beat it. But now he has a very large tumor entwined into his intestines and he cant eat cause he gets sick. Hes a big man , biker type. Its hard for me to sit back and watch him pass away but what can we do ? They gave him 6 mos to a yr as well and is too far gone for treatment. Ive decided to stay by his side and try to keep a smile on his face which is very hard for him at this point. I give him all the buds I possibly can and he comes out and stays with us (my family) every weekend now. Hes able to sleep and actually even eats some good homecooked meals while here . He is in so much pain but refuses pain meds because he had experience with them the last time. Im not trying to Hyjack your thread Dan but it brought tears to my eyes reading your post.

You're not hijacking anything. Thanks for sharing. It's therapeutic to get it off your chest. That's why I posted. Anyone else going through something similar that wants to share their experience, please do so. Call it group therapy.

He has a small bong that is made to look like a coke can . Its cool , so when I see him on FB or I text him I simply say " a Coke and a smile " . He most usually smiles about that .

You are a very good friend Dan-- Most of my friends and Family I have lost, has been sudden-- I have many regrets of things that are forever unsaid-- Tho the pain of losing your friend will still be there...at least you can ensure you part with nothing unsaid-- :comfort:

OK, so I went to see my bro today. Right now he is in a hospice while they get his dosage worked out. They want to find that sweet spot where he is comfortable, yet not drooling on himself. Once they figure out what that is, he can go home and a pain specialist will be keeping tabs on him. He's adamant that he's going to die at home and no where else. His own terms, or, well his own terms.

He was in good spirits. The hospice is nice. Not at all what I expected. He's got a private room, and it's like a nice hotel. Big window, TV, cable, DVD player, mini fridge, a couch. He had prime rib for lunch. It's not a shit hole dump where they just ship people off to die, it's nice. But he wants to go home, sit on his own couch, smoke a bowl.

I took him some movies, his favorite candy and Blueberry muffins. He wanted blueberry muffins. I'll swing by tomorrow, bring some more movies and more muffins.

Dude is a trooper. A lot of people would just give up. Fuck it, I'm dying. Not him.

I don't know what to say. It hurts but fight it... There's ways to resurrect his immune system so it can fight cancer. My mom has stage 4 breast cancer that spread to her spine. She has been on a stringent diet, with massive supplements like vitamins etc. also vitamin c IV drip with fulvic acid. Some of the supplements turn your body alkaline instead of acidic which cancer loves. Do research and find a cancer doctor wish I could help more but my thoughts and prayers are with you both......peace sdd
Ps she's about a year since her diagnosis
