13 year olds having weed on them is wrong no matter how much you think weed should be legal. Even IF it was legal NO 13 year old should have access to weed or be using it.
Asking laws to be reasonable is almost as impossible as asking the same from people.

I'll agree that I don't condone 13 year olds smoking weed,but it is common and should be dealt with by education not overly harsh punishment. Kids are going to smoke pot,when they do they should be taught not to over do it and keep their priorities in life in order. They are kids,they should focus on fun,school,girls,and sports..They should not be overwhelmed by fear of authority and crazy punishments.
I was expelled from schools 4 times,once for smoking weed. It was such a pointless punishment. Weed was the one thing that helped me calm down as a teenager. I smoked only on weekends for a while,then a few days a week. Had I had proper education about cannabis I could have had some values that took years to learn on my own.

Im 25 and although ive been smoking since I was 15 I do feel it handicapped me in ways, not that it made me stupid because thats not the case. But it changed my point of view about the world and how things work or should I say can work, as far as how a person can live their life. I wish now that I would have waited to change that point of view until I was 20 or so. I know I would be better off. And people, I am the biggest weed lover, love weed, hash, extracts, love how it looks, all the many flavors, colors, scents, textures, ect. The lifestyle, all of this. I consider myself somewhat of a cannabis professional. I am just saying that I do see negative effects upon the youth smoking cannabis at a young age. its not a health issue or a rediculous idea that their brain cells are getting killed off, its the the prespective change that happens when you go from someone who has never gotten high or experienced something like this to being somewhat of a mature person via being stoned. I can honestly say that cannabis changes me, without weed I am a totally different person. But I also want to be clear that cannabis makes me the best me I can possibly be, nicer, more respectful, harder working, more enthusiastic and upbeat about life, hardly ever get sad, ect. It brings up my quality of life by alot, it also seems to improve my bodys functions. For me it really is an all around remedy. the most important thing it does for me is cure my sweaty palm....
But with all the good reasons to use it, i do think it is best out of the hands of people like the kid in the video, the kid shooting the film has already had the prespective change im talking about, notice that he seems to handle the bud okay while the other kid, still infantile as he seems, had absolutely no business smoking any ganja, far too immature.

2 years is insane. a friend of mine got expelled for 180 days for selling adderall on school grounds when we were in high school. and my friend's brother was only expelled for a year when he was 13 and called in a bomb threat to the school.
so yeah, I'd say 2 years is way excessive, considering his offense is way less serious than the two i mentioned.
im flabbergasted by bud bugs stance on this matter. so narrow minded and obtuse.

Weed has never killed anyone and you SHOULD know the stats on cigs and alcohol. It's all about educating your kids not placating.

I'm sorry to the OP for this situation, but it seems as though your an understanding father so that will help a lot. Punishment is one thing, but the ends don't justify the means in this case, in my opinion at least. I wish your son the best and hope it works out for him.

Teenagers are VERY aware of cannabis.
