1st Muscle Car

Yes I was spoiled.....was very very much a daddy's girl  So I pretty much got whatever I asked for :jump:

My very first car was a 1974 MG Midget convertible, I know, not much of a muscle car
but at 16 years old, I thought it was HOT! :yoinks: Then by the time I was a senior in
high school I knew which car to ask to receive that last year. It was almost
like new, was only a couple years old at the time and in perfect condition....meet my

Candy Apple Red
1974 Chevrolet Corvette

(the one that I WISH I still had!)

The hard top unlatched and stored behind the seats in an area
where the rag top pulled up from. This makes me realize how much I
miss that car, but makes me also remember how much FUN I had too!
Ahhhh, good memories.

lots of cool cars in this thread. The one that really puts a fire under this cook's grill is the Roadrunner Gypsy mentioned having. I remember my friend and I drooling over a similar one down the street from his house. Most of my cars have been "yank tanks", "boats", whatever ya want to call em. Big four door sedans from hell. My favorite was my Chevy Impala. Most of them had big engines, but everything in them was big as well. I had a couple cars that were particularly fun though. I had a 73 Charger for a while (318) That thing was fast as hell. well, until it caught on fire. Other than that I had a decommissioned Detroit Police car- a 77 Fury. Not exactly a muscle car, but it sure seemed like it. Like Jake and Elwood Blues' car, it had cop everything. Cop radiator to keep it extra cool on long patrols, cop suspension, smash- bars in the front, and of course...the 318 Interceptor! That thing was fun to drive!
And besides, breakin the law in a cop car...sweeeeet.

Plymouth Road Runner. 440 Six Pack - California Car. Genuine RM21 Road Runner Coupe. Restoration work has been professionally carried out with receipts to prove. This is a nice example of a very desirable Mopar. Rebuilt 440 Six Pack / automatic (originally a 383).

Original fender tag and "beep beep" horn. Runs very strong with a healthy rumble! The following items have been replaced: radiator, water pump, alternator, battery, fuel pump, distributor, wires, exhast system, clutch fan, voltage regulator, master cylinder, starter, brake system, BF Goodrich tires (new since photos taken), stereo. Rebuilt: engine, heads, steering pump, carburetors, drive shaft, front suspension.

New: upholstery, door panels, headliner, package tray, etc. Body is very straight and was repainted in original "Petty Blue" a few years ago. There are now some minor cosmetic flaws, but the car is still dazzling. Excellent floors and trunk. Drives like new and ready to cruise.

Fly in and drive it home in style! Fender tag decoded below: M25 69-71 Wide sill moldings N96 69-71 Fresh Air Hood R11 69-71 AM Radio (2 Watts) V7R 69-70 Accent Stripes (Red) Y39 69-71

You couldn't afford the gas for that thing in Europe Gypsy, you'd have to sell your business just to be able to drive that car! :yoinks:

That's what I am talking about Gypsy, I just went a took a hot lap as soon as I read your post, man I love to go insanly fast.OOooooooeeee!!!!!

Satellite gears were Richmond 4:10's and a Auburn positrac rearend, If I read you question right. Dana 60 with Strange axles. the Pro charger Superchager was the real kick in the ass on that car.

Gypsy, I could probably get ya real real close the car you discribe but you'll have to dig deep down in those pockets and pay homage to the Mopar mafia.hehe Now that I think of it, I may know that car you describe

Oh I absolutely think you should. (sorry dutchgrown)
These old Mopars are becoming increasingly extint. Ahhhh, nothin like the feel of a 440 rumblin and roarin after you've stomped it to the floor!
My old hometown sure used to be able to build a car.

If you're mowin the lawn and you find a car...you might be a redneck...If you have more than 1 car on blocks in your front yard...you might be a redneck...If you have a '48 Chrysler Windsor coupe, '48 Chrysler New Yorker, '23 T-Bucket, '72 Dodge demon, and a '66 Galaxie 500XL convertible....you are most definitely a redneck. :pointlaug

Hehe what a stable Tex. :respect:

I'm a "neo-redneck" I guess, the only blocks any of my cars see is an auction block. I real big into frame-off, rotisserie type restorations. there is an old "redneck" cat I run into at the auctions that has in excess of 20M in cars stashed in various warehouses down south, now that's redneck.

Roadsters make a true redneck because the sun just bakes your neck(unless your sportin a mullet), now that's redneck
