Killerzees... Over on Grasscity they've got a Newb growers forum thats packed with LST, fimming an topping, an scrog method how to's.

http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/

Check it out.. Forums pretty helpful sometimes, i use both ICmag and GC now

thanks man.

Damn I started to take the stuff out of the computer box. Oh what a pain in the ass this is. The mobo, powersupply and stuff was easy. But the pieces that are soldered in, I have no idea how to get em out. Like the drive bays and what not. I was trying it with a snippers but thats not gonna work :badday: I may just build a square wooden box and grow in there

If you have access to a dremel or something like that.. it will work wonders... now.. is it welded? or riveted.. cuz usually the drive cages and mobo tray are riveted in

Well guys and gals, it's been a darn long wait but I will have the final weight and pictures of the dried and cured harvest for you tomorrow!

It took a long time to get the moisture levels just where I wanted them in the curing jar but I think it's just about ready now. If it was too dry the weight would read lower than it should, and if it was too wet it would read more than it should, so I think 1 more day of curing and it should be just right :smoke:

Thank you again to everyone who posted in this thread, hopefully with in the next couple days here I'll have a chance to reply to everyone individually. I don't have a whole lot of time tonight so the replies will have to wait a day or two, but I will get back to everyone who commented since the harvest :D

P.S. ---> I'm curious... might any regular trusted members here have an intrest in perhaps buying this wonderful little grow box? I'm pretty nerveous about the idea of selling it due to legal risks and whatnot, so I'd only sell it to a regular trusted member, but if anyone wants it I'm looking for $600 + shipping. The only reason I'm considering selling it is because the fit has recently hit the shan in my financial life and I'm in pretty desperate need of some quick cash to get the bills paid. Any takers?

Its riveted. Is there some easy way to take out the rivets?

I don't have a dremel, but I was able to get them off with my dads air-chisel... They're not too strong.. You might be able to take a hammer and flat head screwdriver/chisel to it.. But that'd take some work... Easiest way i can think of would be a dremel or something along those lines.. Anything that can cut small gauge steel(most PC chassis are made of small gauge steel) or alum.

You might be able to take a power drill and drill out the rivet that way.. Be sure to use some sort of oil on your drill bit if use a drill. There should be a spot on the rivet that has a depression in it.. Start on that point.

Mr.Micro if you do decide to sell this off, would you mind taking a couple more pictures of the electrical side of the system? I'd really like to see how you wired it all together and were able to give it its own power source. Thanks in advance if you can, if not thanks anyways for making this great machine!

It's always awesome to see carefully planned and implemented micro solutions - yours is wonderful.

Mr. Micro I have to make like 30 more posts till i can look at my messages or message you. Can only make a post every 5 minutes, but i forget after the first post 5 minutes later to post agian. I'll try today at work but its time consuming and I feel bad for my pointless posts, like "nice plant" "looks good" ,,,, Ill try to get to 50 today

Did you change the design of this carbon scrubber? I could have sworn I thought I saw a picture somewhere where you had the carbon in a sock-like pouch that was in the ziploc container, or am I getting this build confused with someone else's? Man its late, too many threads, I'm going to bed.

If it was someone else's does anybody know what I'm talking about?

Hey Mr. Micro,

What's the final word on the yield from the cured product? Have you sampled it yet? I hope no anxiety episode this time!

I'd also like to see how you did the wiring, or at least a little more detail on the actual splicing together of the power input to the 3 prong female you mentioned. Could you please add more detail to this?

Any plans on continuing the nanomachine line?

One other question I had was what exactly did you use as the divider between the electric cab and the grow cab? It looks like a square piece of wood or maybe even cardboard, but I wasn't 100% sure.

Ok, finally found the picture I was looking for. Its good to know that I'm not crazy although it did drive me crazy looking for the silly thing. Anyway, here is what I was trying to find for anyone who is interested:

I think I've got an idea for your odor problem that might be helpful if your going to grow in a really tiny cab...
I'm using an interesting design for a little home made carbon scrubber that, while a little ghetto lookin at the moment, seems to work really well.

When I was setting up my PC cases I knew I needed to make some kinda carbon filter for em but every carbon filter design I had ever seen (including the True Air ones) were just too big to fit my micro setup.
Basicly I knew that I had to keep it really small and fairly stealthy, but at the same time find a way to cram a whole buttload of activated carbon into one little filter.

Using the little carbon filled fish tank pads just didn't seem like near enough activated carbon to kill the odor from the Skunk #1 (or Bubblegum for that matter) in my cases, so I ended up having to come up with a new idea. The solution I came up with is probably the smallest functional carbon filter I've ever seen. Heres a few pics...

I cut the bottom out of a tiny 1 or 2 cup sized disposable ziplock storage tub and used gorilla tape to affix it to the back of the PC case. Once I was pretty confident it was air tight I got a large sized reusable aquarium filter bag from a pet supply store and loaded it full of activated carbon. Then it was just a matter of cutting a nice sized section out of the lit, inserting the bag, and putting the lid back on.

When the bag is filled up it completely fills the entire inside of the ziplock tub so theres about a 2 inch thick layer of activated carbon the exhausted air passes through. The fan exhausting the air through the carbon filter is just a little 52cfm computer fan but it works quite well and doesn't seem to be overly restricted by the carbon filter.

At this point it's been able to handle all the odor I've thrown at it, but the real test will be when the Skunk #1 goes into flowering. If it can handle the skunk funk through flowering than I'll replace the ghetto lookin gorilla tape with some Goop and caulk to permenantly affix the carbon filter in place.

Just an idea for those ultra small scale growers who can't fit a full sized carbon filter into their setups. :D

And here is the thread I found it in:
