Thats crazy.. It makes me nervous in LA how all the clubs want all your info on file. I dont like that one bit.

Hello:

I'll be moving to the Eugene area in the next 2 years. I've read just about every entry on this website regarding Oregon. Despite all the issues cited, it's got to be better than a non-medical state or am I completely misunderstanding the situation?

Allot of great info on here and find it interesting. I've always loved the outdoor lifestyle Oregon has to offer with the mountains and rivers. Question though, on a general basis are the cops pressuring growers? both legal and illegal growers? I'm in New Jersey and around here you have to be super slick to grow but I am leaving this horrible state as soon as I can. I'm not concerned about med laws as much as scenery and lax police enforcement.

Hoping to get some opinions of Lincoln City, as a place to live. Not interested in growing there, and if I was would only be very small medical/personal.

Been in Ca my entire life, still love the cannabis plant but I have slowly grown tired of the industry itself.

The skate park in Lincoln City, is notorious for being one of the best in the country. As well the property value is very cheap compared to anywhere on the Ca coast. Hoping to relax, grow old, and skate the park while I still can. Tired of the Ca sun to.... my skin could use a break.

Any input is greatly welcomed.
Thanks,
Mr^^

i may be moving out there soon. What's the word on growing for personal (medical) in a rental (apt or house)? not worried about the LEO, just getting evicted. Obviously, I wouldn't tell the landlord outright. Many places say "no smoking" so it's good i just vape :) thanks,

As a native oregonian its my responsibility to let everyone know that come Oct. 12th, it will begin to rain....and rain....and rain some more....come late Nov. You will wake up in the dark, to go to work, and come home from work in the dark while it still rains....and rains some more... In january it gets worse, it may snow or freezing rain appears and the whole town shuts down... Oregonians are horrible drivers in rain and worse in snow....spring doesn't come till june. And you have just a few months of fun. are you californians fkn crazy? Best state in the union and you want to move to this mud puddle called oregon? the coast water is cold and lincoln city is a small podunk beach town and is not even close to coolness of any cali beach towns. Eugene is a college town, if your ok running into kids all the time. The girls up here are all fat... Oregon is the first state to go into a recession and the last one out... If they legalize MJ here the rules they will set on us will be terrible, it will not be worth growing.....Sorry to burst your bubble...colorado is the place to be.

Welcome to Oregon

Welcome to Oregon

Hey, I just happen to be living with a life long friend who is a Real estate agent and knows a lot about the Gresham area if you need some help looking for a home that meets your needs. Just let me know and I can put you in touch with his office.:tiphat:

As far as getting started out here, I would definitely recommend getting anyone who qualifies for a medical card to apply for their card asap and have them list you as their grower. You could have paper work in your hands in the same day that legally says you can grow for people. There is no point in flying under a radar when there is a system in place that allows you to provide for your patients. All illegal activity just gives the rest of the medical community a bad name. Its not worth saving the few hundred dollars it takes for a patient to register with state.

Ive seen several amazing grows come out of those pop up grow tents. I think 600w bulbs work better for most situations, but if you have high ceilings and can afford the electric bill 1000w's are nice. Coco and a good quality brand of nutrients with a proper flushing at the end works every time, but then again I personally support an all organic super soil approach..

welcome to Oregon! let us know if you have and more specific questions?

Lincoln City!

Lincoln City!

What's nice about the Portland Metro area or tri-counties, is its right in the middle of beach and mountain. You can pretty much drive a lil over an hour and be at the beach or on Mnt hood.

Lincoln City, like most of Oregon beach towns are pretty small communities compared to California's beach areas, and much colder. That being said, the towns are nice to visit being so close to the city, but I personally wouldn't want to live out there full time unless its really your thing. The skate park there is nice, but there are plenty of other spots to ride in ptown (burnside bridge etc). But renting a motel room for a weekend on the coast or a cabin at the mountain and having fun is where its at, rather than living there... just my opinion.

Lots of great points and tips here.
I lived in the Portland area for almost 10 years and loved every minute of it but I'm from Southern Oregon and I love the weather down here better plus it's ideal for outdoor growing

housing is cheaper down here also get a great piece of property with acreage to grow for 200 to 250 K

good jobs are hard to come by here ever since the logging industry fell but if you can swing a hammer you can still make a decent living doing construction. lots of contractor / growers down here

Southern Oregon rules for outdoor in Oregon (South or Roseburg) But I feel like I'm in a sweet spot on the east slope of the Cascades in the Columbia Gorge. We get 200+ sun days east of Hood River, about 25" of rain a year, but our growing season isn't as long. Negatives of this area are the constant (pretty much) summer wind, and especially in the Hood River area land values are really high…Like Ashland high!

There are lots of great places to grow in Oregon and live for that matter.

You have to be okay with the climate, which is wet and dark most of the year. When it is a nice day you can't beat it. That is western Oregon. Eastern Oregon is dryer and there is lots to do.

No money in Oregon though. I am an art broker so it doesn't matter where I live to make my money. If you got a gig like that you are fine. If you work in construction and other trades you will make half as much as other states and have to perform harder. Huge competition for jobs there, so if you do not perform someone else will.

I loved Oregon, but I had my own money and a house that was paid for. If that is not your case you will likely suffer. And there is a bit of a weed glut, so you cannot expect to sell it there, especially if you are not connected. I seen people sit on good good weed that was being sold for 120 per ounce. That is the most you will get there and you will be lucky to get that.

Lots of people selling weed all over the state fairly cheap.
