Socal is expensive. But the availability of herbs here is crazy. You can just walk up to someone who looks like they smoke and ask for for pot, and if they don't smoke or sell they got someone on the cell phone who does.
Much herb in Norcal is well, albeit a bit more exclusive. Norcal/South Oregon border is renowned for pot and it aint as expensive.
If you plan on growing more than 6 mature plants I would suggest lookin at Humbolt County. As I understand it the county allows growers a 100 square foot canopy with no plant numbers... whatever you can fit in 100 sq. ft. Oakland is better than the standard sb420 guidline of 6 plants as well but not as good as Humboldt.
