Farm's looking great! You guys are a cute couple! Glad you found a cool woman! :smoke:

Would you rather be growing in rows like the field of dreams plot? It looks easier to manage. I say you plant your crop like that next year if so. Forget the government. Honestly, they don't have any business telling us how to farm. They work for us!

Wonderful pics my friend! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for harvest and looking forward to next year! Glad to hear the diseases and insects are under control!

Peace and Love! God Bless! :smoke:

Hi Screws. Happy b day bro.
:party::party:
I stopped by Jungle Boys on e 17th st and picked up some Larry OG. Good stuff . Nice shop, very nice but when I asked to use the restroom I was told I could use the Port a potty outside. Lol. Really? interesting location. the graffiti around that neighborhood is pretty incredible. So are the homeless encampments and trash piles 17 feet high.lol. How high can They pile the trash before the city will do something? I’m gonna wanna go back for some u know, for some Topanga Canyon OG. Hope you had an awesome vacation.
downtown LA has been fucked up for as long as i've been alive, but that's where all the good dispensaries, restaurants, and nightclubs are. Let me know if you want any more recommendations.

The native soil plot has been growing every year since we started it. The goal is to eventually cover the whole hillside with rows and irrigate the whole thing. The only downside to that is we will need to dig more holes and sprout a lot more seeds. I really like growing monsters too, although i would rather just do a few big ones and a giant field of smaller ones.

first day of september and everything's ok for the most part, although in the past couple days i'm starting to suspect that a few plants have some russet mite damage. no signs of them in the microscope though but i'm not sure what else can do that to a flower. I'll try to get some pictures. I guess thats what i get for going cheap on IPM this year.

Other than that everything is coming along just as expected. trellis is done. some of the big plants may need another layer soon. We are watering almost 4000 gallons everyday now, only about a month out.

standout strains at this point:

-Ancient OG: Biggest plants, incredible frost.

-sprite: Ancient OG structure with gassy lemon/lime flavor.

-purple sprite: Some phenos are simply exquisite, great mix of lime and purple candy terps.

-banana pie: Chunkiest one so far

-royal kush: Chunky and very loud. smells like old-school purple kush, all gas no grapes.. early too. great strain.

-snow queen: Unreal terps... gassy pineapple candy cream.

-bloody legend (blood orange tangie x cherry pie x legend og): Smacks you in the face with tangerines.

-501st OG: Classic OG Kush flavor with monster seed vigor.

Wish I could tour your farm! Thanks for filling us in on whats going on out there! Thirsty plants, 4000 gallons and they're drinking it all! I know you don't over water! Harvest is right around the corner! Stay focused, you've can do this! Going to be helping provide medicine for a lot of people! :smoke:

got out the microscope and checked a few suspicious branches and yes indeed, confirmed russet mites. They are present in the garden, not at an infestation level yet. In fact i only was able to find a single mite after several minutes of scoping, but I know there are more.

time to spray with venerate and grandevo. I should have been doing that regularly all season, but oh well lesson learned. I think it's too late for predator mites to be effective, also too late to spray sulfur.

i hate russet mites. They really take the fun out of growing weed. hopefully we can get this all under control before the damage spreads and becomes more apparent. Most of the plants are still in the early stages of flowering so they can probably bounce back reasonably well i hope.

I really think some of the native foliage is attracting these pests, in particular the thistles and the castanopsis chrysophylla.. however i can't prove it yet. We have taken steps to eradicate most of these from our property.

Its probably normal to see a couple, but you are right, don't let it get out of control. Are those OMRI approved products? Out of time to look it up. It takes all day to inspect a garden that big. Better stay ahead of it! :smoke:

yes i believe they are OMRI listed. We are seeing improvements already after treating a few plants. I just ordered a new Stihl gas-powered sprayer too, which will make easy work of these mites i think. It is early enough in the flowering phase that a little damage isn't the end of the world, but it is crucial that we stay ahead of it like you said.

and of course there's always next year, next year, next year, next year...

September stack is in full effect here in the motherlode! It is so exciting to finally see flowers starting to form on all the plants after waiting all year. Various odors resembling gasoline, fruit, or delicious candy are permeating the hillside. Each morning we wake up and rush outside to drink in the tantalizing new complexities of our favorite plants. There are flavors i have never experienced before, hybrid flavors which defy any description besides the word "loud". Many of the best ones are my own creations. I can't help but to marvel at the ease and pleasure with which cannabis proceeds along its own evolutionary path, with just a slight nudge needed in one direction or another.
