And all the people here with lung issues. That you are telling to shut up if they don't somehow prove their issue to you? What are they supposed to do cough up a loogie? This isn't a kids' website people here have been smoking for decades, some with impact to their health.
How about an x-ray? Anything science-y at all would do. "This isn't a kids' website people here have been smoking for decades, some with impact to their health."- show me then. Surely one of these people has sought treatment for their lungs.

I didn't tell everybody with "lung issues" to shut up, just the person I was posting with, and only if they couldn't prove their point with good old science.

Here we go again, the vape salesmen and little yuppie pot smokers are gonna be piling on now. But without any science they can all kiss my ass. Science, man. Show me some.

They posted science articles. Your genius intuition makes more sense though

Link? Who is they? Once again, not surprisingly, your post contains zero scientific information, not even a link. Try again? Oh, and where's MY science? I don't have to prove a negative.

Question: How long has cannabis been consumed by combustion versus by vaping? I don't put down vaping, even though it is a fairly modern invention. Why do you insist on putting down smoking based on nothing, when millions have smoked weed for thousands of years?

And another question- why do people get so gosh darn mad when I point out that smoking cannabis is perfectly safe? You guys just bored, looking for a scrap? I mean, this is a cannabis site, not Lady's Home Journal.

I watched the video with the neurologist, at about 2:07:00, he says that both smoking and vaping either cannabis or tobacco harms the lung cells, leading to several serious health problems. The usual cardiovascular stuff, mostly. He has references on the you tube site, but i haven't checked it out, yet, to see if the lung cell thing is referenced.

He also talks of allergies, and if a person is allergic and is inhaling the stuff right into the lungs, there must certainly be irritations and possible infections. I'm allergic to certain wood products, i can tell when there are wild fires, long before we can see the smoke, my throat and lungs raise hell. A prolonged exposure takes a huge toll on my body. So i tend to agree with the neurologist about these things. Maybe not everyone is affected to the same degree.

LOL who are you going to believe someone's opinion about the harms of toabacco vs cannabis or the fact that no one has died from cannabis where as 7 million people die each year from tobacco.
BTW if smoking is the cause of cancer why do people who chew tobacco get cancer?
Chewing tobacco and snuff can cause cancer in the cheek, gums, and lips. Just as with a pipe, cancer often occurs where the tobacco is held in the mouth. Cancer caused by smokeless tobacco often begins as leukoplakia, with a whitish patch that develops inside the mouth or throat. Or the cancer may erythroplakia

Half the people i encounter on here switched to vaping or edibles because smoking started irritating them. Smoking.........is what bothers them.............not the cannabis. But i guess you know whats best for everyone:rolleyes:
LOL still trying to force everyone to follow the herd eh narc. Your life and it should be your choice as to what drugs you use and what way you use them, what religion you choose what sexuality you identify the most with and the biggest choice of all suicide.

Again Mark Twain said it best:

Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits. Fanatics will never learn that, though it be written in letters of gold across the sky. It is the prohibition that makes anything precious”

I absolutely believe in all those rights. But chief you need to lay off the beasters and start being more vibrant. Remember Mark Twain also once said, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let Narcs think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"

How come you don't know that vaping is more irritating then smoking and that edibles are a different kind of buzz then smoking? Unless you have not done either. LOL narcs expose themselfs at every turn.

Amusing back n forth there. Amusing, to see apparent attempts to near equivocate anti-carcinogenic bio-regulatory cannabinoid-rich broncho-dilatory smoke, with lethally poisonous carcinogenic broncho-constrictive tobacco smoke.

Following that, applied with the same logic of the story originally featured in this thread, who gets charged with murder for the millions dying from tobacco(+nicotine/addatives)?

Dorothy Annette Clements was arrested on October 20 and charged with the felony murder of her four-year-old son, who died in May after eating "THC gummies".

Tanner Clements died after eating gummies his mother left in the house.

Gummies made of THC and CBD are indistinguishable to the naked eye, and look to children like candy.

Clements was a mother of two - Tanner and his older brother, Tahlor.

The little boy's death was ruled as accidental, and his cause of death was delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol toxicity
Way, way late. What is the common denominator in all of those links? Dailymail which is an English "rag magazine". That makes all those stories sus af.

This is a very sad story. Very unfortunate.

SPOTSYLVANIA COURTHOUSE, Va. — A Spotsylvania County mother was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role in her 4-year-old son's overdose death after he ate THC edible gummies.
Dorothy Clements' original charge of felony murder was amended to involuntary manslaughter, according to the Spotsylvania County Circuit Courtclerk's office. She was sentenced to 10 years prison, with 5 years suspended. Clements' original charge of felony child neglect remains. She was also sentenced to 10 years prison for that criminal charge, with 5 years suspended.

It’s been well established that phyto cannabinoids can’t kill you and that synthetic cannabinoids are quite good at it, contaminants of any other kind would also be worth investigating in autopsy.
Whoever manufactured the edibles should be charged, not the mother.

Re. Tobacco, there’s all sorts of weird contradictory info that I can see no other explanation for than the contamination of commercial cigarettes.

Why are the blue zones all full of enthusiastic homegrown tobacco smokers? There’s one I can’t remember the name of where most of the men smoke but women don’t, it’s the only place on the planet where men outlive women.
The translation of the word ‘doctor’ in Peru is ‘person who smokes tobacco’.
It’s the most commonly prescribed plant medicine in the Amazon, with all those other plants to choose between! It’s used there to treat cancer!

Mitochondrial uncoupling might explain the extended life expectancy, parrots have the most uncoupled mitochondria of any species, it’s why they live so long.

I’d much rather use tobacco than sulphur to stop mites eating my buds, heat sulphur and add moisture you’ve got sulphuric acid in your lungs. It’s use is probably why so many people are choosing edibles over smoking.

This interview with a Peruvian tobacconist (dr) is interesting..

The most interesting/useful thing to come out of the delta 8 research is that cbd can be effectively removed/converted from otherwise medicinal buds. I suspect this is what makes tangwenas cobs so effective, no tolerance build up from the antagonist effects of cbd.
I’d love to know if delta 9 can be converted to thcp in the same way.

A Virginia mother was charged with felony murder and child neglect following the death of her four-year-old after he ingested a “large amount” of delta-8 THC gummies.

Virginia mother Dorothy Annette Clements is facing felony murder and child neglect charges after her four-year-old died after ingesting “a large amount” of delta-8 THC gummies, CNN reports. Although it is less potent, delta-8 THC carries similar effects as delta-9 THC, the most common cannabinoid found in cannabis. Delta-8 has also been ruled to be federally legal as a hemp-derived substance under the 2018 Farm Bill.

The death, which occurred on May 8 after the four-year-old was put on life support on May 6 due to a “medical emergency,” is considered by Virginia’s Department of Health to be accidental, and “the cause of death is delta-8 toxicity,” according to the CNN report.

“Detectives believe the child ingested a large amount of THC gummies,” Major Troy Skebo of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office told CNN. “The attending doctor told detectives that if medical intervention occurred shortly after ingestion, it could have prevented death. Statements made to detectives by the mother did not match evidence seized at the home.”

Clements was indicted by a grand jury last week and taken into custody on Thursday. She told WUSA9 before she was charged that the toddler was sitting beside her when she noticed he was having trouble breathing.

WUSA9 reported that Clements had realized the child had eaten a gummy and called poison control.

In September 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued warnings concerning the use of and experimentation with delta-8 THC products.

“The health effects of delta-8 THC have not yet been researched extensively and are not well-understood,” the CDC wrote in a Health Advisory report. “However, delta-8 THC is psychoactive and may have similar risks of impairment as delta-9 THC. As such, products that contain delta-8 THC but are labeled with only delta-9 THC content rather than with total THC content likely underestimate the psychoactive potential of these products for consumers.”

There are currently zero recorded deaths attributed to a cannabis or THC overdose.
Which makes me think someone is leaping to conclusions without facts or evidence. 5,000 years of cannabis usage and no deaths until now? Hope there is a Virginia lawyer that knows how to smack this down.

The lady lied to the police initially about how many gummies the child ate. The kid ate a whole jar and the mother knew it. She made up a story that was easily disproved. Instead of coming clean about what happened she chose to lie. Her negligence caused the child's death and then she tried to cover it up.

She deserves no sympathy.

"Dorothy Clements told a police detective that her son ate half of a CBD gummy and that she called poison control and was assured that he'd be OK."

"Dorothy Annette Clements didn't get help soon enough for her son, Tanner Clements, when he was found unresponsive on May 6, 2022 at a home they were both visiting."

"According to police, the 4-year-old suffered a medical emergency on May 6, 2022, two days prior to his death, at a residence on Jamie Court."

"The attending doctor told Detectives that if medical intervention occurred shortly after ingestion, it could have prevented death. Statements made to Detectives by the mother did not match evidence seized at the home."

Cannabis smoked in flower form isn't going to cause any deaths. But concentrates taken in excess can lead to death.

The concept that THC can't kill is ludicrous. It is definitely possible to consume enough THC to cause death.

(weighing 116 lbs had nothing to do with this)

VA says the kid ate < 16 - that's all the detail they'll give about the candy.

What if the actual amount per piece was 10x what the packaging said it was? Or what if the amount in 15 pcs of this offering would be difficult to successfully define as a murder weapon in court?

Of course the jackass profiteers making and selling this shit will gladly ruin everything for everyone. VA allowed this to happen yet has no culpability?

if what is true said earlier that her kid was 116lbs, and is 4 years old, that alone is child abuse and a much more likely factor of his death.... But letting a 116lb 4 year old access to / eat an entire jar of gummies is one seriously life threatening situation, this poor kid never had a chance, his parent(s) are utter scum.....and deserve at least what they got....

Poor kid, terribly sad story
