Mosca's C99 (F1 or BX1)

Have 4 phenos which range from pineapple to more fruit punch smell/taste. These are the BX. Still deciding on which pheno to keep. I grow SoG and 4 of the 4 tend to grow a bushy bottom then reach up single cola style.

Hey Applesauce, I heard the fruit punch is the highly sought after pheno. You run SOG with clones, how many per sq ft? I have grow bags ranging from half gallon up to 7 gallon bags, If I run these SOG style what do you recommend for grow bag size? And do you go like 1 week veg and then straight to 12/12 or do you run straight 12/12 once they root?

5 rows of 5 in 2 gallon bags. In a 3 sq/foot area. 25 in total, 12/12 from clone. This works for the phenos I have seen because it does grow somewhat branchy at the bottom in SoG. The spacing works out well at that density.

I am not sure if this is a trait in the selected BX phenos and not the F1, but I tend to see golf ball type growth instead of larger colas. I don't grow it exclusively so it isn't completely dialed yet, maybe that's why.

I have a 5 foot by 5 foot grow tent So I could logically put in more than that I guess? Your saying with the way it branches out at the bottom the 2 gallon grow bags would give it enough space to branch out but not waste any space. Do you think 2 gallon is the right amount of soil for the clones or would you go less if they weren't so branchy? I hear what you're saying about the golf size buds and not the long dense colas, Maybe it is because its being grown SOG or maybe its just the pheno. Interesting

I feel I could get more yield on most strains in slightly smaller bags with a higher density. The strain would have to be proper for SoG without a lot of branching. I think this could be accomplished with C99BX just by trimming a few of the smaller branches that bush at bottom. It isn't excessive bushing like some strains, and it does tend to reach up single cola after that. This is in coco btw.

Want to hear a funny story? I ordered my seeds from seedsman and my MOSCA beans were accidentally sent to the states do to a mix up with address.( MY FAULT) Not only did they go to the states, they got re-routed back here to Europe no problem and arrived perfectly. And seedsman was willing to replace my seeds if they did not arrive. How great is that. I think its great when you have strong customer support. I would imagine your beans will arrive no problem.

Wow, that is great Core! Customer service sure is 'going the way of the dodo bird' at a lot of places (not just the seed business).

I too just had a nice experience with a small outfit I deal with a fair bit. I raised the issue that a strain was of 'fairly old' stock and questioned about germ issues. He told me they had never had a complaint. But to allay my concern, he told me to buy a pack of 'anything' else in stock and he'd throw them in free ($100). (I was going to buy them regardless because it was probably my last chance to get my hands on it). Even though they're a small outlet compared to a lot and sometimes the selection is not as broad or diverse, I patronize them as much as I possibly can. I have access to another 'larger outfit' in same locale, but 'only' go there when I'm forced to.

It's quite often 'the little things'...I did over $600 business with him that day :)

Ok great! Yes trimming a few branches and bumping down to 1 gallon grow bags and packing them in even more could work. Although I don't grow for commercial so if I do SOG its more for the experience and to see the yield. I have been looking more and more into Coco here lately, I have spent a couple hundred dollars on Bio Bizz Full line up of Nutrients not too long ago and I hate to switch up and go coco. But If I do I have decided to use H&G Coco A+B and KoolBloom, Tribal Seeds hit me with some knowledge and results and I really like to keep things simple. Coco seems so simple if you follow a few basic rules, and I read you get roughly 10% more yield in coco.
Do you run drain to waste to with your coco?

Thats great to hear. I really like to help out the people that see me as a customer, a person, and not just a number on a list. And with our Hobby being HUGE on word of mouth, it just helps them out more. Customs it seems is hit and miss, And with the budget cutback I am not sure if its effecting how they operate. Oh well better for us!

I never got around to growing mine. I sent it out to a fellow grower and he did a reproduction grow of the BX1. I am planning to give them a run this winter.
