easy7 you probably got lucky because some, maybe not all mosaic virus can survive winters. And yes seeds may have the virus in its shell. If i remember correctly there is a 20% chance the seed can be infected. And im not making this up, its been researched for years already. its the oldest plant virus they know of and its still around kicking plants @ss mutating and getting stronger.

So what actually happens when it is "kicking plants ass"? Some of my DJ Short F-13 looks just like the pics above, and smokes beautifully, Please explain some symptoms of the "mosiac virus" you have seen, other than odd leaf patterns? I have never seen it and need proof more than some odd leaves in pictures.

The thing about an organic garden is it has both more dangerous organisms and organisms that inhibit dangerous organisms.

Some think sterile is the only way to go, but that is impossible. Every organism can be food for another organism.

SOF the best way to tell is like i said in an arlier post (infect another perfectly fine plant with a razor blade) Another way to tell is if the odd leaf(mosaic pattern, malformation, etc) gets worst in flowering because the plants immune system is not as strong since the plant is focusing its energy on flowers
