how do you make the erkle purple?? is there a special trick or anything?? I have played with this strand for almost a year. I get a little purple coloration but nothing like your pics!!!

The way you get your Purple Erkle purple is you have to gradually de-leaf your plants of the big fan leaves because they block the light from the the rest of the buds.

Then as it gets closer to harvest time, you'll have to selectively harvest the purple buds, and let the ones that haven't turned purple yet finish up within a few days to a week. That's how I get my Purple Erkle plants dark purple. And I mean purple on the buds not just the leaves you trim off. I always trim my buds close too.

I've been growing P.Erkle for a good 3+ years now and from my observations, you have to let your babies go for at least 8.5 - 9 weeks if you want to see some dark purple coloration.

In reference to what I mentioned about de-leafing, if the light doesn't touch the buds under the main kolas, then you're not going to get a dark color purple, but more of a lighter shade of purple, or it won't turn purple at all. The Erkle that doesn't turn purple still has the smell, taste, and stone, except that it's green.

Also, the thing you have to be careful of when you let your babies go past the 8.5-9 week time frame is the mold that can form within the dense buds. It's a fine line and this is where the grower must develop an eye for the earliest signs of mold, if you want and desire your Erkle to turn Purple.

I get a bit of purple coloration and definitely comes out smellin and tastin right. I know about the a/c and keeping it cool. how many weeks before pulling should i be trying to make it super cold at night?? I got one setup using gh and the other is advanced... advanced is better and everyone likes the advanced nutrient out come better. This new batch i am trying conasiuer or how ever you spell it. the erkle gets super bushy so i am trying to keep it trimmed up. What do you think about Purple Maxx nutrient... anyone ever try it... i tried once and got no results.

Cold temps help but I really never have a problem getting her to purple up butI'm in soil. Herman OS is right about the light needing to hit it to purple but the buds should already be in the light anyways. The lower growth should be aggressively trimmed before flower.

one thing I have noticed, is that the "Medo Purps" does not require light to purple, it just goes purple from week 2 on, until it is almost black/very dark. Too bad the nuggage is not up to par with these UV sisters... bahhhh
