is my plant really short? or just really slow? its been a month from seed. it was stunted for a few days, but i thought it should still be bigger by now. its only 4 1/2" tall..
its a 10 inch pot.

the plant is not in the center of of pot, ha.
all other plants ive seen at this age are at least twice this size.....................

She's probably ready for some food.

What do you have on hand for veg nutes? Also, what kind of soil mix do you have her in?

She's not huge, but she looks healthy. I bet she picks up pace soon.

um, the only thing i have on hand for veg is some organic bone meal that i am questioning even using it, ive never heard any one mention using anything like that.
i havnt givnt it anything but organic potting soil and pummice (sp?) mix.
this plant wasnt really grown on purpose ha ha so i never prepared, i didnt think it was going to turn out as good as it is.
i also have some bat guano, but i think thats for flowering plants.
i want to get other things but i have to order it, i cant find any close by

how about more light, temps, fresh air ? if you want your plants to thrive you need the proper amounts of light, food, water, air, temps, ect.

Lots of folks use bone meal, I'm kinda surprised you haven't seen it. If you're going for organic soil, may wanna hit the organic soil forum, they could probably hook ya up just right.

water, i know the waters fine, ive had help on that

air, i have a little fan in there (its in a closet, so pretty small space) and a humidifier, its pretty cool in there, i really dont know the temp. i wish i did.

dont worry about it man,it happens sometimes.Im pretty sure its just a genetic runt,as i had 1 last year.Wasnt much higher then yours after a month, after flowering it turned out to be a female, and really took off, best one of the bunch.Even the clones where slow to root,so im thinking its just a runt man.Like took said, shell take off, just give it some time.Hope it goes good for you, good luck bro, later

Get those shoplights literally on top of the growth tip, just bend the top fans down slightly if they are touching the lamps, mine grow into the lamps all the time no damage done the damage is when they are inches above the plant, they lose their edge over HID's unless they are used correctly for seedlings and new clones.Try lowering those tubes until nearly touching, you'll have to raise it a link each day normally.

its already almost touching. i had magazines under the pot and i took one off every other day or so. there completely gone now, its almost touching.
its always been prettyclose to the light.

im a she btw :)

im not worried any more, i just need some food and fast. i dont know where to find any! except online. no hydroponics stores near me that i know of

I Recommend ....

I Recommend ....

feeding it guano since seedling...its the nitrogen that makes the plant thrive.
then about a month after about a teaspoon of guan every other week tea
bowl some eggs and crush the shells to dust and add to with water....organics at its finest...try rain water.:bandit:

as mentioned keep them flouros' right on top...i go about 1 inch away.

i'm not sure how new you are or if you know this but when shopping for a veg fert you want the first number to be the highest...like ballast man posted 5-1-1....when u switch to flowering you'll want the middle number highest..example 1-5-1.

your plant looks healthy...thats the important part.

do you guys know about topping? is it to late if its already at the 6th node? should i even do that?

im sorry. this is my first, i have so many questions!

Well use of topping is a personal thing at times but some growers will top quite early with very few nodes, some may let it grow some more first then top it back down to few nodes n take the top to root as a clone etc.. i personally prefer to lst, that again is grower preference, and there are times when a plant im LST training doesnt respond right, and topping the plant can achieve a better result..
:joint: Should you top? thats your choice , but as your plant is quite small, and its your first grow? i maybe would leave it a while to see if growth picks up, u can at a later time top the plant back to the 4th or 6th node.
Toppin can cause some stress, but lots of growers use the technique, so not something to worry about. You are using fluorescent lights which wont have a great range of light or penetration(i use clf myself so know the limitations of range ) and smaller ,trained plants i prefer under those lights myself(again others may differ with that) to keep the plant within the best range of light. What will u use to flower with? the same lights or others? if u will change to a hps, then keeping a low profile with the plant isnt as neccessary as if u where gonna flower with cfl or fluoros IMHO , but with the smaller size hps upto 250 size (some will even train with bigger) training certainly helps fills the flowering space better again just my opinion.

So if u are considering things such as keeping the plant small n low profile topping or lst certainly is something u might want to try. But at the moment the plant seems still quite small that i would let it just grow a while, maybe some mild nutrients etc.. remember u can train or top at anytime really.. hope this is food for thought

give it some fish emulsion...also, sounds gross, but if you really have no way to get anything...you could always use urine. You can take a piss in half a milk carton (sterilize it first) and let it sit out and lose some acidity. Then mix a small amount (not a real scientific method, potency will depend on the owner of the urine's nitrogen intake/outake at the particular extraction) into your water. The nitrogen in urine is not at good for your plant as the nitrogen in fish emulsion and other natural sources, but if you are able to keep your pH balanced...it works well because it is basicallly filtered water and nitrogen. Again, this is a last resort, but I cant imagine you couldnt at least find some pre-treated soil, for when you re-pot your plant for flowering. ALSO, dont take this as an insult if you already know this, but even though your plant should probably have experienced more serious stem growth at this point, you do want your plant to be compact, especially when you lighting source isnt that powerful or widerspread. I would recommend getting some reflective material to maximize light and speed up that nutrient uptake.

WARNING: do not use animal urine in your feeding water...Totally higher acid levels than human piss.
