moonshiners show

1and1

I really dug this show, but they really stretched it out and jumbled up the footage. It seemed like I saw some of the same footage / clips 10+ times. It got to the point of being kinda ridiculous.

season 2?

really enjoyed it. Tickle has a problem though, hardly ever a shot without a can in his hand, how do you work with some one like that?

Tickle is his boy,he rides til he dies. For whatever shortcomings mainstream TV illustrates, who amongst us can't admire a stand up and say FUCK YOU can't tell me what to do attitude?
If anything, these dudes seem like the standard bearers in that industry...you know any black market needs those to keep the fly by nighters where they belong.Just look at the 'legal' black market in Cali. Not everybody is doing it correctly. Not even close.
I tip my hat to'em and keep movin right along.

Yeah I had the same thought on the prison term there, I feel like they got it reduced a lot to begin with, probably cause he was old as shit.

Another thing that crossed my mind, the episode where he does get raided, the ATF agents are all about catching them in the act etc, even seeing ready to be distributed product and stills.
Does the same go for growers? Does LEO want the person/criminal or just the product? or maybe more accurately the bust and media etc BS. Most stories I've heard plants disappear and people get paranoid or maybe a business card, idk if anyone has any thoughts on that...

i dunno man, just because they did shit some way 200 years ago dont mean i the year 2012 they found a better way to do things :)

regarding 'some' artisan qualities.... hmm. water, wood. thats it. take white ash, turn it into char, add to your whisky and it will taste like its been aged for years. magic? no, its chemistry.

so yeah it aint like dude made special liquor. the rednecks drink this shit to get fucked up, not to savor its essence.

teah man

If this was the case then why are people lined up and willing to pay $50-100+ per gallon for it and smuggle it across states when they could just go buy some cheap shit off the shelf of their local liquor store.

Mystique?

A friend of mine bought a pint mason jar of "peach' liquor off the back of a truck. This guy has a fridge full of beer and a freezer full of booze and a bunch of expensive bottles lining his walls.

He works in bars and drinks for free most anywhere he goes. (So he's not a stranger to booze.)

He was proud and excited to be showing off his moonshine to all of us and cautioning us not to drink more than a shot because we might go blind.

He DIDN'T buy it to swirl around in a brandy snifter and enjoy the bouquet.

Cool show, I really enjoy those moonshining characters. Still moonshine or any hard liquor is a big no-no for my big belly. Unless I have an urge, which happens like twice a week.

TICKLE -is the man as far as i care, like "Luv-U-Long-Time" said, thats his boy ride or die! now how many of us as growers can say that? most of us would bite our tongues if we dare utter anything no matter who it is. if thats his way of life then let him do his thing, hes hurting no one. they never interviewd his family as if they had a problem with it so, the same can be said for us as growers, "oh gawd, how can you smoke everyday?", "here let me show you . . ."

POPCORN -damned shame, buti think those cats up in the hills have had the DEA in their faces more than anyone of us have. if it aint the moonshine its the guns, so you know teh DEA is gonna be there. its shitty when any sub/counter culture loses an icon but he's been immortalized so that i appreciate for them. to loved and respected by his peers . . . yeah he went out on top so fuck the DEA, tehy didnt get shit thank god. and look at him? what the hell are you gonna send that cat to jail for? Ppl that drink moonshine are gonna drink no matter who makes it, so why not tax it, let those cats live, and call it a day?

ATF -bunch of morons if you ask me. how are you gonna go toa still site, do "surveillance", see things going on and then just bounce? c'mon man, it takes those cats a night to make gallons, so why not just catch them at the point that you see them and call it a day? what they do is a complete waste of time, since by the time they go back toa site the ppl have already gone WITH product in hand so how effective are their methods? and what kills me is that they think they can outwit the moonshiners but dont you have to have wits of your won to do that? morons (A.T.F. = Army of The Fucktards)

Bringing the topic back because i wanted to showoff my new 13 Gallon Hybrid Still!! The construction is ridiculously nice, I feel like im working with a piece of art!

The 2 1/2 Gallon still I had did GREAT!! But, need more product and this new rig should produce around 25% more alcohol, in the 150-170 proof range...

great show imo! anyone catch the new season premiere last night?

turns out i've been drinking, smoking, and partying with 1 of the guys on the show for the last 9-10 years. didn't even know he was on the show until a few days ago. it's fucking wild....to me anyway.

not too much difference between growers and shiners as far as i'm concerned.

Bump!

Watched episode 2 last night, I love this show! The outlaw spirit is definitely in anyone that makes their own liquor or grows their own weed. I would bet that some of them are growers too but we just don't see it on here.

The new guys seem like they have a good plan with the underground still idea but the previews from next week look like they might have forgot to add drainage so not sure how great it is. Can't wait to see next weeks show.
