You apparently misunderstand, this isn't about pro or anti-Montel. I'm with montel also, and I don't disagree with what he said on that program. I'm against the article which was posted which was using Montel to promote anti-war propaganda. It's not montel's fault that some scumbags chose to take political advantage of his situation.

Um, once again Greenhand shows his ignorance and completely misses the point. The point is the media focuses more on tabloid news than they do the war or other important events taking place. When I turn on the news they are always talking about Brittany Spears or some other tabloid story and the war isn't being discussed. All we hear about is how outragous Lindsay Lohan is or something or how tragic Heath Legers death is... but they never talk about how tragic it is for a solider to lose their life fighting for their country. We never hear shit like that. We hardly ever hear the names of dead soldiers in the news rather we just hear about dead celebrities. Just look at the Anna Nicole Smith circus that happened and tell me thats not true.

why are you using fox news as your news station then? of course all they talk about it tabloids and stuff...it's fox!!! cnn is where it's at...

I commend Montel for his comments on Fox News. The death of Heath Ledger is tragic without a doubt, but the man was an actor who made millions of dollars starring in movies for Christ's sake. He was not a hero like the media makes him and others like him out to be. This guy was a millionaire who could do whatever he wanted with his life and he CHOSE to ingest those pills that killed him, that is not something that deserves hours upon hours of news coverage as if everyone in the world is supposed to feel sorry for rich famous people only.

I feel sorry for Joe 18 year old who gets economically drafted into military service and dies for his country by getting ripped apart by a roadside bomb. These kids and young men/women dying in that Iraqi shithole for the disastrous decisions made by elite, liar politicians looking to score government contracts for their corporate sponsors are the TRUE heroes we should be hearing about. Many of them are old enough to die for this nation yet they aren't old enough to go to a bar and have a beer.
