Hey vintner, thanks for the feedback. I am waiting till this weekend to put two of the plants into a separate veg cabinet under cfls. Then I'll top the three girls in the big tub and install a scrog screen.

great plants, i like the small setup.

do you think its worth it to buy fem seeds? can you get males from fem seeds, any other draw backs? or is it just the price, which is that much more.

Hey Jason - Since this is my first grow, I wanted to keep it simple, so I decided that feminized seeds would keep me from missing males, or keeping males under the light for too long. I don't think I'll be able to get males from these white berries--at least I hope not! I hear Luc the breeder is known for high quality genetics. People say his product descriptions are pretty accurate. I'll definately be writing a smoke report, though. Since I haven't harvested yet, can't really tell how the smoke or high will be. As far as price, I think I paid about $12 a bean including shipping.

Male seeds? It's pretty rare, but it has been known to happen.
Draw backs: Fem seeds come from plants that have hermied for one reason or another, and most will have that hermi trait. Some strains are more stable that others, but I couldn't tell you which. I've never grown fem seeds, or done much research on the different strains. I just know what I've read.

New update with pics

New update with pics

Hi everyone - Lots of new pics and news to report.

I flipped the lights to 12/12 6 days ago. There's been a couple inches of growth and I can definately see little flowers starting to develop. They're a beautiful light green color and very delicate right now.

I also rearranged my flowering cab. I moved the two rapid rooter girls into a veg cab, leaving me lots of room in the flowering cab. I moved the cabinet to the back of my closet, and I have much better access to the plants for reservoir switchouts.

Here are the pics

Here is the open cabinet with just the 3 flowering White Berry girls.

Right now I am feeding them 1/2 floranova grow and floranova bloom, and next week, they'll be on only floranova bloom. I have been itching to try some floraliciscious but I want to do my first grow with just the basics, then see how the additives work--or don't work.

The girls seem to be growing about an inch a day right now. Opening up their cab each day is really exciting and something to look forward to. I hope the rest of the grow is this trouble-free.

I have a question for you. So far I haven't scrogged or lst'd (Tried scrog, but the screen kept collapsing...Ooops!). I have cut a few fan leaves to make way for bud sites, though. Question: Should I try LST, or is it too late?

Never too late for LST

Never too late for LST

Things look great... if you feel you can help give some shoots light I always go for it. LST wont cause any harm and can be performed at any point just look out for later in flowering because moving your buds around in the jungle can cause some of your precious crystals to fall off. :D

Sounds good Mole. Glad to hear you desided to cut back on the # if plants you put into flower at the same time. Jim^ is right on w/the LST advice. Have you given any more thought to taking a clone from each one? They're all going to be a bit different, and you'll want to keep a mother of each untill you deside which one(s) you like the best. Have you read the thread on bonsai mums? Lots of great info on keeping mother plants and cloning in that one.

JlMH4LPERT and vintner - Glad you stopped by, and thanks for the advice on LSTing. I'll start doing it gently. I forgot to mention I took some clones, so my veg box is full. I have the two ladies in hydro and a small bubber cloner with clones in it. I haven't checked the cloner in a few days, but think there are 5-6 clones rooting. If all goes well, I will have a perpetual harvest. :joint:

Just a quick pic update. I took people's advice and LST'd the plants. It was easy with just a little twine and some paperclips attached to holes in the net cups.

What's up, Mole? Looks like you've got everything pretty much under control. Looks really good in here, dude. You must be proud, yeah? How long are you planning on letting them flower?

Hey everyone, I'm back with some fresh pics. Yesterday I changed the res. and added 2 42 watt cfl's to the left side of the cab. There are 3-4 really nice bud sites that weren't getting much light from the HPS, so I splurged on some extra light in the hopes those extra watts will make some plump buds.

I also bought a small ona block, and gotta say, it really does eat the odor. It's a little freaky: when I take the ona out of the cab, I still can't smell the buds after 20-30 minutes. That stuff is strong!

twistedtree- I'm going to flower them for 50-55 days. White Berry is a pretty short flowering time.

I recently discovered ONA also, and in my closet i need to seal the ona a day before just to smell my buds and even then i i have to put my nose right over them to get the full scent. who needs scrubbers when you can use ONA?:D

Flowering, Day 15 of 12/12

Flowering, Day 15 of 12/12

Hi everyone. I can't believe how fast these White Berry girls are growing. They are really monsters! Pics first, then the update.

Today I opened the cab and one of the buds was growing into the hps light, and another had grown into the cfl. Right away I knew I had to LST them some more, so I spent the last hour tying them down and evening out their canopy. I also raised the light a couple inches, and so now there are a few inches of space under the light.

I can't believe how trouble-free this grow has been. Right now, the only problem is height, and I now realize I waited too long to flip my girls into 12/12. Oh well, I could have much worse problems, right? I will be extra careful about their ventilation and keep tying them down.

I don't even check their PH when I change their reservoir anymore since I use floranova bloom and its pH buffered. I do check it when I add water back into the res midweek, though. I changed the res last thursday and did the addback/PH check today, and they drank 2 gallons! They are really thirsty.

In terms of their buds, I am starting to definitely see fluffy buds forming with little white and light green hairs. There are about at least 15-20 main bud sites under the light, and that's not even counting the smaller sites. I might be blindly optimistic, but I think I might just harvest close to 1 gram per watt. We'll see I guess.

How long should I expect them to stay in "stretch"? I am really hoping they will start putting their energy into bud production and stop stretching because I will run out of room for them soon!

See anything else I should be worried about, or could be doing better? Please let me know. This is my first grow and I am still a noob. Thanks for dropping by!

Mole

Nice looking grow Mole. Thinking the idea of adding those 42 watt CFLs on the sides is spot on. Anxious to see how that works out. Nice cab setup too.

I'll be swinging by here often man. 1 gram per watt sounds like a great goal.

Looking forward to your smoke report.

Day 19 of 12/12

Day 19 of 12/12

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. Today's update (day 19) shows exactly how much these girls have grown. The bud development is happening fast, and each day there is noticable growth. Switched out the reservoir with fresh nutes yesterday. I'm up to 8 tablespoons FloraNova Bloom per 10 gallons water. At this rate I'll need to buy a second (bigger) bottle of the stuff.

On to the pics!

The girls in the cab

See how close they are getting to the light?

This is one of the branches I'm bending to avoid growing into the light.

Commence the bud shots!

So far, these White Berry plants are doing great. How do they look to you? Any comments, questions or feedback is welcome!
