Moldy walls...HELP!!..(With Pictures)

You can not have a sealed room without dealing with heat and moisture, then you are bound to bump into heat and mold issues.

You said it yourself that you are pretty sure to solve the problem with some ventilation.

I know i would rather have abit smaller fresh buds than moldy big buds.

Drop the co2 until you have solved your heat and moisture problems would be my advice.

If you are going to make a sealed room a dual hose airconditioner would be your best friend, that way you can blow away heat from the airconditioner with air from outside your growroom.
This way the exhaust will not smell and you can cool and dehumidefi your growroom.

They are ridiculoulsy priced, but in a sealed room without air exchange, they are a necessity. In a sealed room the RH will always rise 20-30% when the lights go out, this is unavoidable without proper air exchange. Some people have a problem with heat running a dehumid during light hours,I run mine during dark hours only and still pull slightly over 2 gallons daily. You really have to run it at least during dark hours if you want your room to have any longevity at all.

With all that humidity and no fresh air, your plants are going to be prone to everything and everything. Start off fixing the things you know are causing major problems. Humidity and Air exchange.

i use a dehumidifier in the basement, also...

i had a faulty downspout last year and my humidity soared!

luckily, i caught it after a day or so.

fix your leak, get a dehumidifier at a brick & mortar retailer, and get the extended warranty...

it will throw off some heat, but in the basement, its ok.

and 70 pint Kenmore
http://cgi.ebay.com/KENMORE-WHITE-7...1QQihZ017QQcategoryZ79621QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

so far that one is about $75 delivered

I ALWAYS include shipping with the bid price - so that's your cost to the door.

I LUV ebay

There is a special paint - I believe it is called KILZ - suppose to cover and seal mold. Once you find it - check with factory or someone that knows on how to prep your surface - you may need to strip everything and start from scratch.

If you own the home - your insurance may cover all or part of the cost.

No you really don't have a choice - that is a problem that will not go away, and it will cost you hundreds of times over the price to fix it and be done

Good luck!

What would the dehumidifier do for my condensation problem?

once the leaking roof is fixed, it will eliminate any residual moisture, and help the basement walls dry out.

get some DRYLOK paint after that and paint the walls.

you are asking for a toxic mold situation with the way things are now. :badday:

The roof isnt leaking....to my knowledge...The water is condensation.

So ya think tha dehumidifier will lower tha condensation?

When a dehumidifier doesn’t solve the problem

A dehumidifier alone may not solve severe moisture problems in your house. Your first course of action is to find the moisture source. Take steps to reduce the amount coming into your house—or to stop it completely. Remember: a dehumidifier is useful— but it isn't magic.

I would scratch your current grow. Its a major hazard waiting to happen, Health do to mold inhalation, electrical as pointed out not to mention you are inviting a huge mite infestation wich will be just as hard to kill off and get rid of as your mold problem.

Shut down your CO2, that is your moisture source.
Start venting the room.
Add a dehumidifer.
Start a severe clean-up.

Man those are some seriously good deals on dehumidifiers on ebay, you know I've never bought or sold anything from them,I think I may have to start getting involved in that little operation.

If you don't have a roof leak then you have a leaky pipe.(is that a puddle of water?)
How is the soil grade outside the house? Is it sloping to or away from your foundation?
You could also have termites or other wood pests in the walls. They bring their own dirt and moisture into the walls.
A dehumidifier is only going to band-aid the problem if it's not the plants causing the moisture.
Cement block walls wick moisture up as well.
Try a borate sprayed in the wall void and as a topical treatment for mold as well.
If it were my house I would open up the area and see exactly whats going on.
Stay peaceful
