I know this is off topic, but I gotta say that most, if not all the weed I have seen here from friends, locals and family SUCKS!!! This shit won't fly anywhere else I know.. Its all underdone, under dry and zero flush and/or no cure whatsoever... wtf??? , Umm where am I?? But damn Im stoned.. Thats all its got..
I have supposedly smoked Durban Poison, Pineapple Express, Northern Lights, PurpleUrkle and White WIdow all in the last week..BUT,it all tastes and smokes the same.
I have a theory on this, but that's for another day..

lol. welcome back to reality from hitting whatever you wanted in Cali. now you have to grow the stuff you want that is crip. i had a friend recently return from Cali and said he was in heaven. everything he could want in weed was a phone call/txt away. honestly bro, i would still rather be here than there, no matter how good the weed is there.

that's why i grow my own. i would hate to say that you have to expand your circle, as i am paranoid enough that i am definitely not into expanding mine, but there is some good shit in Puna, if you can find the right source. i hate buying weed when i am on BI, unless it is from a friend. the stanky widow is still out there, i just had it not too long ago, but weed is definitely hit and miss unless u have friends. even then it might be. tasted some nice sour diesel, og kushy tasting stuff, along with some pineapple-ish flavors on BI. most stuff doesn't pass muster like you said, but some nuggets out there bro. better hurry up and get your grow on

I've noticed the same out here on Gu*m (Sorry....paranoid). I know there are guys running indoors and people doing outdoors. Still, a lot of the stuff I try (I don't buy...either smoke my own or something a friend has) seems to have a similar taste and high. Not bad weed, but nothing spectacular. I've smoked my own herb that was 3 weeks early and barely dry that was somehow better than the other "chronic" I've tried. Then again, I think the problem out here is also genetics.

Also, you can add Z99 to the list of jungle strains. She's got about 2-3 weeks left and has spent the better part of her flowering in a hoop house in the jungle. Not sure if she'd make it through rainy season, but there's not a sign of mold on her. Not a huge grower because of the Cindy genes, but perfect for a small little stealth garden among your peppers or tomatoes.

Ok, my theory on why most of the herb I have sampled tastes the same has to do with the available soil and fertilizer products.
Their are only so many stores that sell grow supplies, and they all have the same thing.Most of the soil I see is either Black Gold with time release ferts or FFOF. The growers then put on all kinds of fertilizer or mix multiple kinds of ferts in the bag soil from the store. Then, out in the bush they go.. More fertilizer is then used when checking the plants.I dont know anyone who does a proper flush here All this adds up to massive overfertilization.
Then comes how everyone dries the herb. Its cut, hung in da house , hung by the water heater to dry or put by the propane stove, or some way to dry your herb in 70% plus humidity. Its all quick dried and tastes like crap.
I dont know anyone with a proper dry room.
Then comes the lack of any curing process whatsoever. If its dry, whether quick dry or whateva ,its sold or smoked as if its done correctly.
This makes all herb taste the same, regardless of strain.

Interesting theory,and one I agree with cause I take extra steps to not have it taste the same and funny how you would post today because I just happen to have a OG Kush freebie and some Trainx707 and Trainxsourdiesal and all were completely different but they really have 1 more week to cure better. And the FF guys are better then just Pro-mix gang.

Yeah, its hard in da jungle. Not that I dont like it, just different. I got some good Kush the other day, first smoke that had flavor,lol.. But it sucked really, it was half ass kush. Hindu Kush if you ask me, but they called it OG. Had that Hindu flavor and high. Not at all OG kush, I know the difference. I hate when people call it some hyped name and its not.
I'm having a hard time with all the paranoia I am experiencing here on the Big Island. Not only from my friends and family, but here on ICmag also. I just hate it. arghhh.. Its really bringing this place down.. Not sure if its all the ice heads, the copters or if its just how it is here, but damn, it sucks This is not how it was for me last time I was home.

Plus I have dealt with 56.78 inches of rain in the last 2.5 months. I cant grow anything in this rain My strains cant handle this..
Im really frustrated.

Thanks for the words of advice Chomba64, I appreciate it. It just with all this rain, and No sun for days straight, and this has been since Feb I don't see how anything will grow good. It doesnt matter what strain we have, my homies are sufferin also. Small plants, small buds.
I did get a couple of local clones, some real deal stuff. Even those are having a hard time.Its just all this rain, arghh...

At least it is not as rainy as last Nov. I grow under a plastic, wish I had a environment controlled green house but I don't have the $$$$ The rain will slowdown this month so plant those short ones to be done in August or 1st of September. And the only guys who are semi OK are the ones who live down by the ocean way less rain. We will have a good growing season happy planting. And remember think happy thoughts HaHa

I realized today that my water from my catchment tank is 5.1 pH... Man that's low...That means I cant use it straight, gotta ph everything.. Glad I figured this out now..
On a happy note, the Nevilles Haze x Mullum Madness were all females. I got 4 rippin seedlings that are just lovin it here. I am really excited about these. They will go long for sure, but damn are they nice plants.
Made some seeds today, used a killer Blueberry male and crossed it to the Panther, an old school strain from Santa Cruz. Im keeping busy trying to get back in the jungle rhythmic vibration

Just got through making up a couple of 120gal pots for some South of the Border seeds and I'm hoping for some huge ones I wish like Ca. but if I got half of what they get I will be happy.

i think i am more along the lines of oldhaole this year. i am saving my Frost sativa for short seasons and trying to get some bigger indica/sativa mixes for an early long season pull. we'll see tho, shit always happens. happy growing guys!!
