Moisture in my Grow room

I am having moisture prob. Well I don't know how much of a problem it is, this is my first indoor. My room is an 8'X8' shed outside. I have it sealed up good. And the walls have moisture on them inside. I don't know if this is a big problem or what. But can anyone tell me how to fix it. I am about to start flowering any day, my ladies have been going for three weeks now and I just transplanted into 3-4 gallon pots. It's pretty big room inside. Enough for me to walk around the plants and water and stuff. Plant's are huge. They were up to about 3 1/2 foot with the pot, and I just bent them down and I think they are ready. So does anyone have any good advise for the moisture problem. I have a tall fan going in there too. And the temp inside there is always around 70-80 in daytime and maybe lower at night. I kinda live in the mountains, not too high though. Not snow level. So lights are running at night/ 6pm to 12pm. 18 hour days right now.
Thanx everyone for heelllllp.

Well, I don't know what RH% means, and I Don't have any ventilation to the out side. just a fan blowing in there. What Kind of ventilation could I set up and still keep it all sealed so no light get in,. It has to be totally dark during flowering right? Here Is a picture of the outside of my growroom.

Ok I figured out RH. But what should the RH% be? I will try to pick up a hydrometer soon to check. I just leave it in there like a thermometer???
Thanx Sandman
I Am running 1000 watts hps, well a 600 and a 400,

RH% should be around 50-55 for veg and ~45 for flowering...

Walmart has some remote sensor weatherstations for around $25 that will show temps and humidity from a remote site...which makes it much easier to just look at the base station in your home to see what's going on in the shed. Other digitals meters are available for less if you don't need the remote monitoring feature as well...

You're probably going to need a dehumidifer for that setup,or something to help control humidity

I got the same thing going on in my house....

I got the same thing going on in my house....

Best thing is ventilation, in my humble opinion you should:

a) punch a couple holes in the bottom of the cabinet to get some air flow and not let the light leak in as your partially elevated.

b) put an inline fan in there and suck that stale moisture rich air out of there, removing most of that moisture and helping your plants breath better.

c) if its going to get cold in your place, like below 50 degrees those plants will need some heat to stay alive through the winter, maybe fit a small radiator in there, cheapy from Home Depot or your equivalent.

d)Chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo for optimal results, it always helps me!

Hope you get that fixed before the Powdery Mildew and MOLD come, I have had it in the past and actually have some now due to extra moisture in the air.

Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo I remember that cleaning goes a long way, so I cleaned the room, the room around the hydrohut, and the plants and hopefully they will not continue this vicious moldy cycle! Beware of high humidity it will not only bring on the Mildew and Mold but it will make your plants stretch alot needlessly.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!

I totally agree with easydisco on A,B,and C. I dont know enough about D to make any comments. Ventilation to get that humidity out is a must.

Thank you all so much for takin the time to help me, I was thinking about getting an exhaust fan or two, and doing that, I have a little radiator heater already, so It will be alright to punch the holes on the floor, and just hook the exhaust fan up to the holes? I hope I can do it with no light, I heard maybe hook a dryer hose up to the exhaust fan and seal all around it , then run the hose out about six or so feet away, does that sound about right??
anyways thanks a whole lot, now I know what I got to do. I haven't started flowering 12/12 yet. I will fix this prob hopefully in the next two days, and start my flowering next Monday. Thanx

You could exhaust thru PVC pipes with elbows painted black inside to control light leaks.
Thanx Dan, Where should I exhaust through? The floor or side wall or what? And where would be the best place to set the exhaust fan?
Thanx Again :lurk: Oh Yeah, they make black pvc so that would work without having to paint. And just caulking around the holes.

Hi m8
Lot of good advise*smileS*

Somit to think on regarding ventelation..

Warm air is lighter than cold air(i think)

So your air intake would be close to the floor/ground(then as it comes into your room it heats up and raise's)

Then your exuast fan would Be placed near the top(by your light)Sucking out the warm air

Now the Air intake can be passive(Not powered by anything)
As was said just drill some 2 inch holes in the floor,And put the plastic pipe in(with the elbow(and painted black(INSIDE))(i have some pics of a older set up i have i think)

The only way to Exhaust the air(to my knowledge)Is to use a Fan to SUCK the air out...So u have a exhaust Fan conected to some silver ducting pipe....Which exits outside.....

Hope that makes a little sense(i have a feeling i have made you more confused tho*smiles*
*Edit*
The top pic Is the Exhaust fan(With the silver ducting)IT sucks the warm/stale out of my Grow room))

The bottom pic then is of the little plumbers pipe(For your passive air intake)

I was thinking maybe a bathroom exhaust fan high up hopefully matched with some 6 inch PVC? elbowed down to the outside. The other thing I would do is screen whatever intake pipes from the outside to avoid mice and pests from crawling in. Depending on your moisture inside.. Not sure one fan would be enough?

Hi m8

Mmm I dont think the Bathroom type exhaust are very effective(Others will know)
But the fan in my pic was only £25,so tbh i would get a tidy fan(rather than make do with a bathroom one)

There are a few things u can cheat on in a grow
Lights and temp control aint to be skimped on tho(imo)

Yep Defff have some sort of screen to stop vermin(lol hardly ever get to say that word)*grins*

Thank You guys soo much, for confirming, I kinda got the idea. I went down to Home Depot today an bought the stuff I think will make it worki.
I got an 8 inch around in line fan, one side sucks and the opposite side blows. Then a 10 foot long piece of 7 inch duct stretches out and bends to whatevery way i want it to go. Then a 10 foot long piece of black pvc 2 inch round to cut and make for the intake holes plus elbows. Oh darn I forgot screent. Oh well I think i can rustle something up. Then I got a hygrometer/therm at walmart. a 10 dollar one. Turned it on and the dam humidity is staying around 75%. I haven't had the time yet to hook up the fan and duct work and intake pipe pieces.
But it will be done tomorrow. Is 2 intake holes to many? Do I just need One.
Do I punch them in the floor?
And Run the Fan off the sidewall near the top or around the height of the top of the lights?
Thanks everyone.
I don't know if this moisture is messing up the veg but they look hugeand nice. But I am working as fast as possible, gettin er done. lol.
Thanks again. I'll put up some pics of my finished project in a day or two. Day 23 of veg Today. I hopefully will have them flowering soon. :pointlaug You all have a good one.

Well, my efforts didn't pay off. I still had 75 % humidity after I got done puting the inline in and putting 2 passive intake holes. It dropped 15-20% but not enough. So I moved the whole grow indoors, into a big room in my other Mobile thats vacant right now. Since last night, the humidity is now 53-55% and temp is 83-85 with lights on. I set the timers tonight for 12/12 so day one starts now, on 6 p.m. and off 6 a.m. I will start a new thread on the progress of my firtst indoor grow, with new pics keeping track of the growth of buds. Wish me luck. :woohoo:

75% humidity is a bit high, but I've had my best results vegging plants at 60-70% RH,its just not good when you get into flower. If I could get my RH that high in the vegroom I'd go for it too see my results, the higher I can get it the RH the better the results so far.I use a cool mist hum, idifier in veg to try and keep my RH up.

Well they are now moved and the RH is 55-60% as of this morning.
They are in 12/12 now. Thanx. I might just keep the other room as my veg room, since it is higher humidity. But i always have plants and clones veging under florecents too. thats how come mine are so big right now. They probably have been under floros for 2 months and 1 month under 1000 watts, one 400 metal halide and one 600 hps right next to each other.
