So I'm sittin' here smokin' a fatty of some Quality Golden Goat trying to conjure up a name for the thread when it dawned on me....I'm gonna be modifying quite a few things on this grow. Annnd, I'm fried.
No Brainer, ===ModiFried=== is born.

Method of Madness:

I'm going to be running six plants in 7g Smart Pots. The mediums will all be different. 3 Feeding Methods will be utilized.
Happy Frog, Ocean Forest, Bcuzz Coco, Cyco coco/peet 50/50, and 2 bags of 50/50 Bcuzz & Cyco. All of the pots are filled and had a 2gal pot full of perilite mixed in with them also.
After I put the perilite in a tub and poured 5g of water on it to rinse it, I remembered reading here about someone rinsing coco in a pillow case. I switched it into the case and finished it out but the shit left behing the the tub was nasty. I never used bulk perilite before but it obviously needs to be rinsed.
Exhibit #1:

Available Strains: (2 of each clone for true side by side comparison)
Pineapple Express, Casey Jones, Sour Willy.
I purchased these 6 clones today from La Conte's Clone Bar in The Mile High. Good Place. Good Clones & Genetics. I have used before and know others as well. No Complaints. 30 Day Guarantee.
$12 ea.
Sour Sage, Tange & Chem Dawg.
I got these clones from some random dude off the internet.
Genetics Questionable. Said he would do 30 days on these.
$6 ea.

Which Way Do I Go?

I've got holes to fill with my outdoor and the plan was to run a quick coco crop of indoor on my E & F under a 1K like I usually do. 10-12 weeks top. Nice pull while my out door begins to flower. That was why I got the La Conte's Clones today.
The $6 clones were destined for my outdoor along with the strongest of some frijoles I cracked.
And that's where the smart pots come into all of this....
I'm not going to run my indoor, I'm going to light dep these smart pots. No heat issues. No indoor issues. No electric bill.
No Brainer.
But riddle me this Batman; The better genetics in the smartpots getting light dep'd or in the ground for the season?

These are the kinds of "problems" people should have to deal with more often, if you ask me.

I'm still up in the air on the combos I'll use. Feel free to make a suggestion if you would like to see any dirt v. coco with the listed strains. The only one I'm really leaning towards is putting the PX in the Bags of Frog & Ocean. Kinda redundant with it being soil v. soil but I know there are people from both camps of the soils being used. Maybe PX soil v coco & Casey the same way. Maybe I should put the PX both in the ground for the season and use the Frog v. Ocean in the holes for that comparison?
Like I said...feel free to make suggestions if you'd like to see something Heads Up.

Feeding
I'm going to run H3ADS formula with some tweaks and any adjustments that the ladies say they need along the way.
2 soil bags will be hand fed the soil formula.
2 bags will get the "Kiddie Pool" method. Coco Formula.
2 bags will be ran on an Ebb & Flow System. Coco Formula, Re-Cirq'd.
Soil run-off and the rez changes will be used on my vegetable garden.
My indoor room has become a black out chamber but it won't be used for a couple weeks. I want to give them at least that time to start going off in the bags before I flip 'em. The $6's have been outside in the shade with a couple hours of direct sunlight for a few days now, they're ready for this week of 90's that's coming. The $12's will be in the shade the next few days and get ready for the show.

Another case of knowledge I've gained from this place in motion. Just took a bunch of quality ideas and methods and came up with one that combined a few. I'm super stoked about this run of pots that will save me a bunch of electricity costs. Not to mention I'll be able to finish right as my other girls are ready to flower. Add the Head to Head comparisons and this is the most interesting grow I've ever attempted. It's usually E & F with coco under a 1K for me indoor as well as my outdoor season.
I can't wait to watch these ladies do their thing....
Good Luck & Karma to Your Garden This Season, wherever that may be.

Don't Hide It, Light It.

Laggin' on this thread too...
I'll try and be better about it.

So I set the bags up as follows:
Coco:
Cyco- Casey Jones
B-Cuzz- Pineapple Express
50/50- Casey Jones
50/50- Sour Willy
Dirt:
Frog- Sour Willy
Ocean- Sour Sage

They all had nice roots when I planted them...

And it seemed like it took a little bit for the coco to get their legs....

The next pic is about a week ago...

And this is from earlier today...

As you can see from the photo...I have been giving the "kiddie pool" treatment to all 4 of the plants in coco.
I tried lugging 2 back and forth to be flooded initially but I just can't swing it. I'm trying to get it figured out quick though...I think the plants would benefit greatly from the e&f action but, unless I can get it started consistently, it won't matter.

Right now, the plan is to start light dep on these 6 next weekend after a final topping tomorrow. When that starts, I will flood 2 bags, twice a day, if not 3x's.

If any light dep folks happen upon here, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

My plan is to bring 'em inside to my dark room before bed and bring them out around 8 in the morning. I don't have a hoop house to tarp it....is this going to cause problems?
I haven't read anything about bringing them in and out in the threads I've found about it. If worst came to worst, I'll just run the bags for the season with my other outdoor...I'm still well under my plant count either way.

It would be nice to finish these up sooner though. :tiphat:

Looking fine. The Casey jones is a very good yielder when grown big, I lost that cut years ago and haven't tried to track her down again but I should.

As far as bringing them in and out for flowering, that is fine and works very well. Use the sun for your light anytime you can, not only saves money but is great for the environment.

I bring some in and out, especially when making my seeds since for seeds I tend to use smaller plants. Just make sure u keep the same schedule and make sure the room is dark and u will be very happy with the results.

Hope this helps and good luck!
