Mobile homes

Houses are extremely expensive in my area, so Ive been lookin at mobile homes. I just wondered if anyone had experience growing in a t.park...I found one that has units on land parcels.

Most t.parks have the trailers VERY close together. Sound is an issue and poor bastards breakin in is another.

One thing I noticed is that the power lines are buried. So are all the meters are contained in one central box? is 100a service the norm?

Ive been in a double-wide grow trailer. The space underneath is handy to route ducting and store reservoirs, etc. They often have furnance/bathroom vents.

I noticed the walls are fairly thin, but i dont know how quiet they are compared to house walls.

i have alot of friends that grow in trailer parks, every place has their own meter so the meter guy will be looking at your meter once a month, some trailers are more sound proof then others just depends how well it's built, depends what kind of park your moving into for people breaking in, there's decent parks then theirs ghetto parks. u can still do any kind of growing you want just like a normal house, and the best part is your neighbor is probably growing too lol.

I've thought about that too.

In my area there is a way to avoid having to have you meter read every month, and could actually replace it, its called a power stat box. Its mounted in your house/mobile/apartment, ect.... some where near you door or other suitable location, its like a credit card reader, you have a card that has a magnetic strip on the back like a credit card, you take this card to the power company, give them any amount of money and they place that ballance on your card and then you take it home and swipe the card in the power stat box and that amount is then displayed in the LCD read out of the box and you don't have to worry about paying a bill untill you are running low on money on the box, nore do you have some one reading your meter every month(as far as i know)

I'd also be concerned about a heat signature with the thin walls and (usually) less insulated ceiling/roof (15yr park veteran, since recovered). Security is even more important because trailer people tend to attrack leo.

Not sure how big your grow will be, but trailers are smaller then houses, will your electric bill make you stick out?

And with the houses close, oder control will be important.

heat detection is illegal, if you keep your other electric down you won't stick out, a HID light uses no more electricity then a big air conditioner or a chest freezer, also trailer people do tend to attrack leo but thats a good thing if you think about it, as long as you stick to yourself and be good, then with all the other people getting in trouble you look like a saint. odor control is always important no matter where you live. you never know who will be around or stop by even if you lived on a dead end road in the country.

I would say that if you really are living there, and you're doing 600 bloom watts total, you should be fine as long as you take the normal precautions no matter how close they are. However, if you are planning on doing a commercial grow, especially if you dont plan to actually live there, dont even think about it.

I grew in an apartment in a really dumpy part of LA. And I kid you not, there were four or five 15-19 yr old kids that literally just hung out on the steps all day every day. As late as midnight usually. Just sitting there watching you carry poorly disguised bags of potting soil, and relector boxes, and vent tubing. They were pretty dumb, but Im sure they noticed they I would walk in at 11 am and leave at 3 pm four or five times a week. Not to mention that the kids that hung out on my front steps had a "gang" that was enemies with the "gang" that hung out on the steps across the street (I shit you not) and multiple times I would be walking out of the building and there would be three cops and two cars out front telling the kids "If I hear that you were going over to that building and starting things again...I dont care if they threw something at you..."

One time I was walking out of the building a little glassy eyed, and one of the kids actually followed me to my car and asked if I'd "hook him up with some buds." If you think that you're going to be going in and out without being stoned, well...

Here's the upside to growing in that environment. The kid that was "always starting things" was the building manager's son. I walked in one night and there were hundreds of footprints in white paint up and down the hallways. I followed them the direction that they got thicker, and they led right to the manager's front door. People used to have multiple bags of trash in the hallways. What I'm getting at is that in dumpier places, landlords are far more concerned about just getting a check than maintaining a certain "image" of the building or anything else for that matter.

They are far less likely to care enough to do regular inspections or maintainance. They pretty much leave you alone.

Just think out ahead of time how much grow gear you are going to need to get in the house and how visible/conspicuous you will be getting it in (are you going to be seen loading 20 bags of potting soil, 20 feet of vent tubing, and 4 light reflectors into a 900 sq ft trailer? Who is going to watching when you are coming and going regularly at hours that are obvious you dont have a full time job and you have a trailer you dont live in?

I currently live in 2 trailers, renting one and I own the other. Ive done everything roorer said in his last paragraph and then some, except I had 15 bales of ProMix instead of 20 bags. As well as loads and loads of different hydro systems.

But theres a reason why you wait until the sun goes down to unload everything. And trailers are different in many ways when compared to apartments.

Ive lived in the same 2 trailers for almost 3 years without a single problem from anyone. I dont even know my neighbors names. My grow is relatively small though 2400w total. But my point is that as long as you dont look suspicious they probably wont think twice about it, atleast my neighbors never have.

I live in a tralier park. I run a 4oo Watt. I vent my cab into the floor. It blows between the floor and insulation on bottom. It's real easy to set grow cabs up in trailers....... Traliers ain't bad at all. Plus, trailer folk are pretty laid back.


Tralier trash? Try some of my weed, and kindly go back to paying that $700 mortage......

also trailers are actually easy to resell.

my buddy built a side room addition just for growing....it's a nice 10x10 set up perfect....looks like a bedroom from the outside with ac in the window.

im with TEXAS in california most houses are 900 -1200 sf i got 2 baths healthy yard forced heat and air place rocks ohh and to keep the nosey neighbors at bay a dog or to never hurt not like pit bulls or any thing hounds work welland if you cant sell the olde thing in the end just rent a 30 yrd dumpster and fold the whole thing up and throw it away only made of tin paper and 1x3s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
