Thats awesome! I also found a couple seeds from afghan hash a long time ago and the seeds sprouted on our balcony and did grow very well until they dried in the sun. This was probably early in 2001 or in 2000 when I was learning how to grow.

I am more of the "grow it and see what the plant says" school of thought...
...
and im still waiting to grow bld genetics with speedy effects (heard they are out there)
So am I. It is just like every plant is a new journey. Maybe this is the reason why I probably will always have several different varieties going.

BLD genetics with speedy effects, maybe high CBD strains may be worth a try. I just made this experience with Euphoria from RQS (yeah, yeah, I know). I mean I don't know how speedy it should be :D
I am not saying it is the high CBD particularly but there is something going in a motivated to speedy direction with THC:CBD 1:1 or 2:1, at least for me. That is not what you mean but just saying.

Hey all,

I was gifted some seeds and among them there is the "Mountain King" which I just call MK. Flowering time of MK should be 10-12 weeks. The high is described as "very strong". That's all information I got.

As my flowering tent is booked until January next year it may take a while to see more. Inbetween I will take a cut to see if it is a female, which I was told should be highly probable with a ratio of around 1:10 m:f.

For now I have germinated 1 seed in soil and almost messed it because the little pot I got the seedling in dried out as I was on vacation for a few days. It is coming back. The plant resides in an incubator with high RH and ~25°/18° under 50W COB (together with something else).

The soil mix may be a little bit too strong. We will see.

Looking good! Any chance you can update with some grow details? What light, Soil, Nutrients etc..

I love to learn from others but its tough without knowing what they use to grow !

@leprechaunleaf
Thank you. Sure, here is some more details.

Light: 50W Cree COB high CRI (think it was 95-98)
PPFD atm: ~500 (according to Photone app)
Soil: standard potting soil, perlite, worm castings, black earth, sheep's wool, rock phosphate, Mikorrhiza/Trichoderma
Fertilizer: none
Water: tap PHed to ~6

The plant is just sitting in my room next to me, like a houseplant.

HTH :)

MK took a good shower with a mix of olive oil soap and water. I removed the 2 lowest leaves as they were damaged.

Yes, mucho N in the soil already. I will adjust it for the main purpose, flowering cuts from this plant - if it is a female.

Sounds like you know your stuff, I went back an re-read your first post and you did mention the soil may be a little hot. She'll explode soon (in a good way) and use up all the extra N fast..

Hope you get a Female... I've only grown regular seeds two times and both came up male (I;m back to fem)

Right, still playing with soil mixes. I just like it :)
In this soil I have (had) 4 plants. 2 completely tolerated it, MK almost and 1 other got malformed hard, but is coming back now with the stretched soil.

If it is female I will try 2 or 3 different variations of "my" mix.

Today I took 2 cuts and placed them in my flowering tent hoping they survive and show sex.
I used a clean razor blade coated with honey. After that I coated a few cm of the clones with honey and put them in water.

I will be doing air layering with 1 or 2 branches too.

I changed the angle of the COB to provide more light distribution to the branches. I will move the plant anti-clockwise 3 times a day.

So, I also did the air layering today. Absolute novice here :D

I scraped the stem of a branch with a razor blade, again coated with honey.
After that I coated the scraped area with honey and applied the components.

- sphagnum moss, I gathered outside a few months ago
- a basic soil mix of perlite, worm castings and coco
- crushed stem of Pilea peperomioides, many years old (just a thought as this plant roots enormously fast)
- perforated plastic foil
- linen
