Mites in a perpetual growroom.

I have read of all the stuff we use for mites. However, what is a person to do about this problem while running a perpetual harvest in the same room? I have 2 tables in the room, and they alternate harvests every 4 weeks. So when one crop is almost done, the other crop is almost at the halfway point. Im having a hard time controlling all mites because i have a setup like this, and it limits me to what i can use.

I have heard of using.. Floramite with stirrup M, Avid, Azatrol, hot shot no pest strips, pyrithium based foggers and bombs, neem oil and soap, take down garden spray and so many more.

My question is, which one, or combination of these should i use for my situation? Can i just clean my room with bleach, and then start dunking my clones in floramite and put them in the same room with budding plants that have mites on them? Should i use a bomb? Lil help here.

Hey,

Dunk those clones in avid/floramite and toss them in the room next to the mited plants. you've got no choice..

I've had avid dipped clones next to completely webbed over flowering plants and the clones where never touched.

I would advise spraying them with azatrol/azamax AFTER the dip - before going into bloom. The dip is going to be effective for around 30 days or so after the dip. They do have a chance to reappear after the dip with other mites in the room so be prepared.

I'd stay away from the bombs if you have any later half flowering plants in the room.

I'm a fan of the no-pest strips. They just sit there make bugs go away. That plus mite-x is how I got a handle on my mother room.

Ok, I have had this problem with my grow box(one in one out a week, starting to do two a week), but the best thing that I have found was to do three things(haven't had to resort to dipping clones) but 1)clean the shit out of your grow room, and make sure to treat it like a clean room(ie change clothes, wash your hands, even go as far as to wear a hair net) and 2) go out and buy some beneficial mites. Within two applications of them(first was kinda heavy, second was lighter), all of the spider mites had been eaten, and the beni's were looking for other stuff to eat. They normally come in a tube that has at least 8 doses of them in it and they are worth every penny. At first I was worried about them being in the bud when I smoked it, but as you are drying it out, they take off(they don't have food so they leave). And last but not least, once I was sure that the beni's had done their job, I put two No Pest Strips in front of my intake vents, and since then, not one bug has lived in my cab.

You are NOT suppossed to use "no-pest strips" on flowering plants. Dichlorvos is a carcinogen and if used on your plants, it should only be used in the veg cycle and and plants rinsed thouroughly before flowering. The active chemical (Dichlorvos) can be rinsed off with water but is very dangerous and should also not be used in living areas.

There needs to be a sticky thread about this because I seem to see plenty of people on the internet using these things improperly.

Hey,

A lot of people love the no pest strips around here.

I've stuck one in a room with an infestation and cut off my ventilation during the dark cycle of early bloom and the no pest strip did nothing. Mites continued to get worse for that week.

Maybe the pest strips are more a preventitive measure, but a single no pest strip in a small area did not get rid of my mites...plus I was too paranoid to go into the room at the time because the strip was in there..I know just giving me cancer while I tended to the ladies.

If you want full erradication go with the big guns like Avid, or Floramite and say goodbye to mites for good.

I've heard from a friend that Safer End All II is great on mites and their eggs. Its only around $12 a concentrate pint if you can find it.

Hey Smurf, I feel your pain. Dealt with the mites for about 18 months in my 9' x 12' perp
bloom area and in my veg room which is about 1/3 as large and beside the main room
walled off. I bought 5 of the pyrithium based foggers and used them one each every 4
days for 20 days. I've been mite free for over a year (knock on wood). It was a bit
expensive but worked like nothing else for me.
Boy I can tell you I was sick of those little bastards and ready to break down the whole
garden. Good luck in your battle with the borg, resistance is futile.

Doesn't Pyrethrium dissipate within a few days - off the plant?

How does one treat for mites, when you're deep into flower?
