Mites during flowering

Alright here is the question i am at day 35 on flowering and am starting to get mites. Now would it be safe to use neem oil or any other insecticide to at least keep them in check. Or would i be risking it all to mold from the humidity. Any help would be great. :chin:

Take the plants and wash both sides of the leaves using the shower. Then, air dry the plants using a gentle fan. You will have to repeat once or twice a week because there will be surviving eggs and adult mites.

that far into flowering? wetting the plants down? sounds like the makings of possible fungus or bud rot? If it were me, I would go get some Hot Shot "no-pest strips" they are like 6 bucks each and kill mites overnight, and they always work.

sbagis - have you tested a finnished product after using those no-pest strips? I looked them up, and it sounds like they basicly fill the area with something like RAID. It even says not to use them in an area people will be for any amout of time.

it says not to use it in places where people will be often, or thats atleast what I have read. I interperate that as bedroom=bad - - - - garage, closets, storage rooms=okay. theres also some report that i read, about dichlorvos, saying it breaks down after 1-2 weeks. Now, I know just cuz I read it doesnt make it true, but it looked like convincing info and that's all I can say. It is used in grain storage facilities, so that makes me think if it is ok to be temporarily on things I eat, why not temporarily on the plants. I know that's not science but, eh....I feel comfortable using em. But it is entirely up to you of course. :)

edit: oh yeah tested lots of finished product, no discernable taste/aroma due to the pest strips. I have asked numerous friends to try and tell differences too, no one can really tell except this one guy but man...that dudes trippin.

No pest strips worked great for me. As long as its not a large area that needs to be covered I think the no pest strips are the best solution.

You don't want to get the buds wet or you are likely to get mold and lose everything.
No Pest strips works great. They are also aproved to use in cattle barns and around other farm animals like pigs to keep flies down. There is little absorption by animals or grain. Breakdown is fast.
Place strips inside and outside your grow. Most mites will be killed in a couple of days. Eggs can continue to ripen and hatch.
It doesn't kill the eggs or hibernating females. Eggs can survive four or five weeks before hatching. Females can hibernate for months. Some take the strips down a week before harvesting and then hang the strips back up after harvesting. Replace the strips regularly for a few months to make sure they got all of the little buggers..

yes vavwl is right i should of asked the size of the area the safer soap is a spray but if the buds are not to big it's safe if them girls are in full swing and you may not want to use it i have up to 45 days on a 90 day strain and had good luck thanks for pointing that out vavwl

IMO I don't think a nerve poison that is used in those pest strips is the best thing to have your plants exposed to when they are in flower.

No doubt... If it's really that big of a concern go to the hydro shop and get a bug bomb... Dr. Doom works great and can be used up to the day of harvest....
There's also other aerosol sprays that can be used up to harvest as well... Botanicare I think is the name of company.
I know dr.doom works well...
After this run make absolutely sure to clean EVERYTHING...
Other options would be to crank up the humidity and risk mold or go and get a C02 tank, seal up your room and push 10000-15000 ppm of co2 in the room for a bit... Should kill all those little bastards good... :D
Edit: Forgot to mention Ladybugs & Predator mites are also good solutions...

If thats all you have in your room is the plant or plants that are affected leave them go or kill all you can by running your finger on the under leaf or Pull them all and throw them away and THEN BOMB.
