Mitchell Report

W

Wunderkind

Tax money wasn't involved in this investigation. The MLB hired George Mitchell to investigate.

Why are performance enhancers a bigger deal in baseball than in any other sport? In football the guys taking them aren't setting any records, very few basketball players are taking steroids, who cares about hockey, and the PGA is beginning to realize what's going on in their sport.

When steroids was a congressional matter, a year or two ago, it was about drug trafficking.

No, they don't.

It's obvious, to me at least, which players are doping:

the pitchers that break down far to early in their career (Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Eric Gagne, etc.),
mediocre players who's stats suddenly explode (Bret Boone, Brian Roberts, Adrian Beltre, Gary Matthews, etc.),
the rookie phenoms (Albert Pujols, Troy Glaus, (I suspect Ryan Howard) etc.),
players who are trying to stay in the league either because there abilities have diminished or who's body can't handle a full season (Neifi Perez, Paul Byrd, etc.),
and finally,
players who want to be their absolute best and also play for as long as possible (McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Clemens, Giambi, Sheffield, etc.)

Superstars that I know are clean; A-Rod, Vlady, Soriano, Manny, Ortiz.

So that'd be...about all of them?
Not trying to start a fight/whatever, but if you think about it, it's much to hard to remain competitive in a sport if everyone around you has massive advantages.

If you think about it you'd realize not every player is on steroids.

Saying just about every player is on steroids and that the dopers have a massive advantage are gross over-estimations.

Barry Bonds had a massive advantage at his peak because of the fact that he was already an elite player when he started doping.

Wunderkind's hit the nail on the head. Its more about athletic ability being maximized... you can have a 100hp engine and supercharge the shit out of it, but if you start with a 250 youre gonna go farther... etc.

oh and also, the pga tour has absolutely zero drug problems, whatsoever, except maybe a huge weed problem. that is a fact.

Ganja struetu?
the reason they zeroed in on bonds isnt only because he broke the record but because hes a gigantic asshole. When i was 5 years old he asked me for 20 dollars for a autograph. ARE YOU SERIOUS???

i didn't get it.
