using a razor blade/scalpel and scraping the wax sealing coat stuff off the seam allows even manual cracking but more importantly an entrance for water.

it seems that

the seeds can be manually popped open this way and using small thin tweezers or something, the hulls can be ejected/pried off, if done delicate. it leaves a shimmery coating on the inside of the seed hulls which i wonder about. i think i have seen it in naturally ejected seed hulls, from seedlings, but i don't know. it could be a water sealing thing which would force moisture to seep in through the ridge line and soak the sprout/root and the thing that sheaths it; however, i think after prolonged soaking it actually surrounds the inner part (the curled up mini plant with the mini cotyledons and root) because i saw one like this ,with a full skin covering, after it was soaking a while and i manualy ejected it. i don't remember checking inside the seed hulls, after it was busted out, so i don't know if it had an extra, and near total, skin coating or if it was the coatings hull wall that loosened off the hulls from soaking and stayed intact as a coat.


i am looking for more information on this about assisted birthing of seeds and their anotomy (good pictures, diagrams). please give me links.

also i was wondering if the seed acts as a filter for bacteria/fungi spores. i had thought that using,

*crushed aspirin
*fungi perfecti micro grow (i don't have OGBIOWAR yet to also add)
*crushed menthol and, maybe some
*cobalt chloride (maybe similar to copper chloride, which inhibits fungi)

might help sprouting and not getting mushy dead beans (the little white mini plant inside part)

i started with menthol (a bit crushed and a little chunk) to dissolve as much possible

(not much but it is definately noticable if drunk/drank. if the same thing is done with menthol crystals from ebay and a tiny crytal is put in a 2liter of water and left for a few days, it is very cooling/refreshing when drank/drunk)

and some cobalt chloride and the seeds seemed to not go mushy from it (it may be from other circumstances)

then read weeping willow helps protect rooting parts with salicylic acid

and that aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, can be used for rooting like willow.
so i guessed it might help too.

then i wondered if adding good bacteria/fungi in the begging might help prevent unwanted ones from taking hold.

however the microgrow from fungi perfecti is meant for seedlings, i think, and if the seed is only growing, i don't know if the trichoderma or bacteria would hurt it.

so i added the aspirin with the microgrow,

cobalt chloride (copper chloride inhibhits fungi at least),

menthol (Menthol is widely used in dental care as a topical antibacterial agent, effective against several types of streptococci and lactobacilli.[7] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menthol),

and then after wondering about it thought maybe if they are left to soak in that, and uncracked they are still sterile on the inside unless cracked.

up untill then i was trying to manually crack them after a day of soaking and then, initially, after scraping the coating from the ridge. i have been putting some back in their hulls and also planting the pure fleshlings. it seems, in my small number of trys that without the shell, the root can curl in on itself.

those are some of my observations, so hopefully
this will be a thread for (mastering), the scientific/experimental methods of seed germination.

i hope this occurs because.... when in certain climates that are more prone to rot or when using old seed of limited/awesome strain, i wan't to be confident that the guesswork has been worked through and refined to an art/science. realistically, i wan't this to at least culminate in being able to use biological micro organisms, chemicals that control/stunt them with nutrient gels/liquids and mini framework/holders/supporters/tail growth guiders for manually extracting and germinating any seed, no matter how old, with viruses being the only mystery left. UV ABC light may help too, especially if nutrients and artificial heat cycles are added.

i got some old seeds and they just took longer to sprout, took about 2-2 1/2 weeks for the taproot to show opposed to the 2-3 days of the rest of the seeds. i also germed them under a 1000w hps light

Giberellic acid helps at 100-250ppm for sprouting old seeds . I seen a video on YouTube by Vader og
