mexico has every right to hate the united states. if you had a neighbor like the united states, who had stolen half of your land at gunpoint on a false charge, invaded when you tried to profit off of your own resources, deliberately kept you from making your own deals with other neighbors, given or rather imposed again at gunpoint terrible financial advice that leaves most in permanent poverty, flooded your land with cheap flashy bullshit and subsidized food to undercut the market thus drowning almost all your traditions and culture leaving entire peoples orphaned in the street begging, taken incredible economic benefit from most of your people living in abject poverty when they try to flee the poverty by working on the neighbor's land, stolen so much of your water that the river that carved the grand canyon no longer even makes it to your land or the ocean anymore, and finally, most relevantly to this forum, told you marihuana is a cursed evil warranting scorched earth tactics and endless gangland massacres, well, if you got any blood left in your veins, any pride left in your gut, you tell that neighbor to kiss your fucking ass, cuz you will outlast them.
if by freeing you mean killing and enslaving, and by civilizing mean forcing them to live in poverty generation after generation, then maybe that stuff makes a little sense...
