"Miracle" Purple Sativa

Thanks, J.
I must admit, the bag this seed came out of wasn't typical... it's not like I can find something like that whenever I want to. Never seen anything like it before, and never since. It was a one in a million... a Miracle :)

looks a little like "dumpster" buds originally from Ohio.....i can't believe that those buds are from a Sativa or mostly-sativa plant......-gp out

Fern - I know... it really does. In fact, during the first run I was convinced that's what we'd stumbled onto... somebodys S1s of TW... but I kept thinking back to what the smoke looked like that we got the beans from - nothing like TW. By the time it hit 40 days 12/12 I knew for sure it wasn't TW, because TW is a relatively quick finisher and this one was only about 1/2 way done. It ends up being a 10-11 week finisher - and that, my friend, ain't no Trainwreck :)

Guineapig- It is amazing, isn't... but the 10-11 week finish along with tons of small, slender leaves doesn't lie. And the taste... OH MY... the TASTE - no indica I've ever tasted was anything like this. And the final indicator is the high - It's like someone slipped a blue dot into your pepsi. There's no indi in the high... sat sat sat all the way.

Wrong, infact - after viewing your latest pics I didn't see earlier - I can almost ASSURE you that is Trainwreck or at least has TW in it.

Trainwreck grown from seed [YES, there really are a select few that have seeds] is a LONG finisher. NOWHERE near as fast as the clone.

NorCal'ers, SoCal'ers and everyone else in between - if this

isn't Trainwreck or doesn't at least have TW in it - I don't know what does! This is a picture perfect example of TW, something I've yet to see on the forums since Jay [rest in peace, brother], Berserker, E and the others..

AWESOME AWESOME plant, my friend. whatever it is. :)

I know that TW has a wierd feature to it. I hope i get it right:

After the age of 9 months, the plant's flowering period drops from what it usually is to the TW standard, of around 45 days or is it 50.. im not sure..

Wait...

so you're saying that you've heard Trainwreck, if planted from seed, requires a long flowering period, but after a few runs the flowering period is reduced to 45-50 days?

There's one thing that I can't understand about this, if that's really what you meant. TW is basically a clone-only strain. Are you referring to S1 beans?

I think what he is saying is that there are Trainwreck seeds available in very select circles and they (seed plants) take a lot longer than a clone of TW to flower. The reason being that the clone is as old as the original seed plant it causes it to flower faster. Hope ive been clear.

Very very select circles, indeed. NorCal folk.. they're there.

Thanks for the clarification, bro. Our beloved Dr. Jay [RIP] and company told tales of authentic Trainwreck beans floating around amongst the tightest of the tight-knit groups here and there in NorCal once upon a time.. Only recently I learned that this was definetely true [never once did I truly doubt Jay, but TW beans sure was hard to swallow].

Hell, I bet'cha you can still search these very own ICMAG forums for Jay's posts regarding Trainwreck and you might just run into him discussing the original beans.

Only a handfull were made and proved to be super long-flowering, and were used in crosses by Jay and friends.

peace
