AWW,
Chill man, no need to attack!

Using MG is like shopping at Walmart; no-one likes it but you can't beat the price.

It seems MG soil has generated alot of threads in the past and it's put alot of good growers at odds unecessarily.
I have never used MG soil, I use a mix similar to the one B1 posted and by God I'll never go back to anything else.
Getting negative rep for stating my opinion was why I turned the fucking shit system off to begin with ;).

A really great discussion so far, I feel myself that building a soil using ammendments and measuring it out and combining that with a quality potting mix the best way to go.
I agree that K is the hardest elements to get into the soil organically, kelp meal and seaweed liquid ferts are essential along with a good compost and dolomite lime.
Price is not something I really sweat but honestly when you recycle soil and your buying ferts from farm depots that pretty economical in it's own way.

Peace

pyrex is right...I just bought a 54 quart bag of MG soil for under 13 dollars and would a 20 gallon bucket do good outside because the soil around here is all clay

I wonder if the rain water will do good because i saved about 7 gallons from all the rain we had and hope to use it in the last 2 week flush

Damn...flame on! :dueling:

All kidding aside, great discussion guys.

I've grown fine in FoxFarm, it's just a pain in the ass to get. As soon as I get some time, I'll post some pics of the SSH in MG. They are looking mighty damn good. I've cut it with tons of perlite, so we shall see.

Pyrex hit the nail on the head. Believe me, if there was a store within 30min where I could get foxfarm or one of the other usual suspects I would. The place where I purchased the MG from is less than 3/4 of a mile away and it's cheap as hell (doesn't hurt that they have lots of perlite). So, it's really a no brainer for me.

Thanks guys!
