Thinking of doing a micro light dep with like, 1 or 2 very small plants (3-5 gallon pots), maybe a week or two veg (with CFL supplemental to keep em awake), just for shuts and giggles.
One challenge with such a small covering and volume of air, I think, might be keeping it cool. I have an extra 6" inline fan that I can dial down to vent it, I guess.
However the biggest challenge is the uncovering of the tarp in the morning. How can I automate this? Ideally, I'd like to fully automate both open & close for cheap. But realistically, that might be beyond the budget for this project and maybe a open-only in the morning will suffice. I wouldn't mind covering up at night as much.
We're talking maybe a 3'x3' or 3'x6' footprint (maybe 4' high) to cover.
Thinking of using a bar-on-a-hinge style (like Golden Arm) mechanism tied to a Harbor Freight winch. Maybe two winches = open AND CLOSE automation?
My first season outdoor, I put some fresh Blue Dream clones from the dispensary out in early July with 30 gallon bags of coco and got nearly a pound each. (Probably would have worked in 7-10gal too)
