Next generation moving in already. 2x krakken sprouts in soil. Think they may be good chunky plants for micro. And running up to 4 of my recent crosses. 1/2 LAcon NL x mikado bx sprout so far. 0/2 blueberry x mikado bx but the seeds are swelled up like it's on.
Had to make room for the wee ones. They were getting stretchy under the canopy. Looks like I'm getting about 50% germination rate on the seeds so far. They are still very fresh so that could improve or they may be a little under done. Switched lighting to 15/9 to try to give the little guys a boost while keeping the slow finisher in flower.
Slow finishing but trich caked bagseed. Threw a bunch of new pistils under 15/9 lighting. Trying the no water in a dark place thing for 3-5 days before chop. This was the last to flower and pretty sure it's sensimilla. Smells lemony.
Knuckle
Had some ph issue I think due to reusing some of the flushed soil. They are on the mend though.
Like the look of the crosses, Big wide indica leaves. 9 of them in there minus males plus 2 fem krakken. I didn't keep track of which crosses are where but the krakken are marked and quite a bit narrower leafed. Will flip them to flower before end of month. Supercropping only, no top or fim this time.
Supercrop underway for the older few. Ended up with 14 total in there. I buried a few presumed dud seeds but they sprouted. Looks like the crosses really want to branch out, great trait! Will flip it to flower pretty quick. Light dose ph perfect nutes cleared up my ph issue from the reused soil.
Finally pulled the globes off my SIL bulbs.. WOW! The increase in brightness is shocking.
2 x 14w 2700k SIL and my purple unit should be a lot more light than any previous runs. Culled two runts so there is "only" 12 in there now.
After defoliation
Right now, I believe mikado is one of two things I want and haven't got. I was thinking about grabbing some later in the year. Can I ask why you crossed it, what you think its lacking/needs? If its as solid an indica as rumoured or over hyped?
The Mikado bx is very solid on it's own. Fairly extreme resin production, even on seeded plants in less than ideal conditions. Taste is totally unique earthy sweet and high is very nicely sedating. Only neg I can think of is it seems slow vegging, I think that was an old sour bubble trait or could be my contraption.
I crossed it to preserve my other strains on hand somewhat and out of curiosity. I also made f2's of the Mikado Bx and am running at least one now.
