Midwest Outdoors IV 2006 Season

Hmmmm, my plants aren't blending in as well as they were. Bushes with buds all over them don't seem to be nearly as sneaky...
Damn Pez, that is one big ass plant. Mine aren't anything close to that. Great work!
Mine seem to have topped out around 6ft, but the bottom 2.5 ft on both plants doesn't have any kind of growth what so ever. All in all they're budding out nicely, making me very excited to see fall.

My bushy one is growing some pink hairs :yummy: I couldn't get a decent pic of them though.

The other is known as "green". Hardly any branching, but still a good grower.

I just finished a green inside. It took 85 days :fsu: I wonder if she'll finish before the frost...

Lookin good, guys. Flowering is well under way it looks like. Here's a couple shots of some tastey buds i got last week.

motaco - Green is a strain that my uncle has been growing for the past 10-15 years outside in the neighboring state (we figured out each other grew last year). He pollinates one female every year so he can have plenty of seeds for the next season. The seeds have been turning out the same from year one, so whatever "green" is, it seems to be very stable. It's called green because it tastes exactly what I imagine chewing on a fresh red ceder branch would taste like. It has a real nice body stone, who knows where it originally came from..he sure as hell can't remember where he picked it up. If it finishes for him every year I'm sure it will finish here too, I'm just surprised at how long of a flowering time it has.

I was just asking because it has that pole straight posture like alot of jamaicans. but its pretty wide leafed.

motaco - Thats fine. I really would like to have at least a decent guess on what the genetic background is on that one. You were giving some ideas in another thread I started aimed to do exactly that.

Alrighty...From looking at the weather channel today it looks like most of the midwest is or has been getting some rain over the past few days :woohoo:
My two big plants are growing along really good. Too bad something ate the bottom portion of them...
My NL clone is infested with some kind of grub/maggot thats eating my roots:mad: I gave it some insecticide tonight that is supposed to be fruit safe, but I'm still a little unsure. Hopefully I wont get poisoned and the little bastards will before they kill the whole thing.
Whats everyone else up to? I wanna see those plots that put mine to shame :smoweed:

Great shots everyone. Yes flowering is well underway and we're getting close to the end of the season. Should have a few more shots this weekend after a trip to guano the last remaining plot.
Have a couple new strains on the way. HTC: Skunk and Sunshine IBL's and powerhouse! If i get some stonehedge freebie, it will just ice the cake with icing. Supposed to be pretty good; 85$ strain.

Gave one patch a little bloom GO JUICE today, hadn't been to see these girls for a couple of weeks and I couldn't believe all the nice buds. Now that its started raining I hope mother nature doesn't get carried away, I don't want TO much rain in the last few weeks. I would rather have to water now and then, than have to fight MOLD, (worst enemy of nice buds!!!)

Onward thru the fog,
Nickel

whats up?

I think I'll load up the bass boat and check on my river girls tomorrow. I hope no wildlife, or rippers (scum of the world) have been f...ing with them. Last time I checked they were just starting to bloom and that was about 3 weeks ago, so I think things will look different this trip.

I'm looking forward to fall and cooler temps, and of course harvest time!

went to see my plants jus before dark looking good now jus starting to bud :) and looks like a nice stretch wil lbe coming too :D

You guys are just starting to flower? I've been mature flowering for about a month now, and I'm about dead smack in the middle of the midwest (North/South).

This rain and relatively cool weather has been great for my plants. The NL clone was killed by some kind of root eating larvea/grub... The little bastards got the job done in less than a week, and thats with a treatment of pesticide.
The other two are looking really nice, or at least to a indoor grower gone outside for the first time :joint:
The Green is just a damn bud. No branches, just a stalk with buds. It smells good, alot like ceder, and has a decent amount of trichs so far. The BK x Pap is my favorite. Nice bushy structure with pink pistils, and a nice skunky sweet smell. Average first frost around here is around the 10th of October. Hopefully I'll be cutting plants within the next month.

ok seeing as how i'm from the midwest and i haven't got but one reply, i'll try the water here. i have a nice lookin bagseed growin outside, looks to be more sativa than indica. my problem is, where it's at, i can't cut out the veg ferts. it's tapped into a swale(place where septics drain onto) needless to say it's the biggest i've had, but this is only my second attempt at this. here's my question, how can i go about gettin some good buds? with all the veg ferts pumpin through it, i'm afraid of a leafy girl. can i just double up the phosphourus shots? i have to be careful though cuz all i have is chems, don't have any organics. please help!! i should have some photos up soon, hopefully that'll help w/ your thoughts. thanx noo-b

It would be nice if you could cut back on the nitrogen, but since you cant, I would just feed it a little phosphorous now and then, but don't get carried away with it. May be a little leafy but you will still get good buds, and they should get big.
Good luck

thanx nickle. i'm hopin i get 2 oz.'s but not too sure about my guessing abilities. haha i'll get some pic up soon thanx again dude

noo-b doo-b,

How much direct sun light do they get each day? If they get at least 6hrs of direct light you should do good. More than that is a big plus, and less will dramatically reduce yield and cause air bud.

Nice shots of the pink pistils, nomoreshwag. You're very far into flowering, whats your latitude?

A few shots from this weekend. Did some top dressing with guano mix and pulled 2 males out of 6 plants.

noobdoob- i'd just feed as normal, or cut back slightly. Last week or 2 of flowering (Mid oct) just water them with no ferts. The swale will give them some nutrients, but its likely mostly supplying them with water.
