Things are going well with me indoors in Chicago. At 19 plants harvested over 26 weeks. Only 2 fems in the box and 4 seedlings on the way. Outdoors was hard this spring. Dropped plenty of seeds but as of June 15th, nothing. Don't know if I have anything a month later. 3rd coolest and very wet this year. Will make it a late season surprise.

Keep it safe!

PhilC: What makes it a "Hellraiser" grow? Like the movie, or just the term in general? Either way, it looks good. Those 1k's get fantastic light penetration, i'm definitely getting one if i upgrade.

Cannacoop: Those girls look nice indeed! What strain is that? Or is it a mix?

NorthernK: The Pollen chuck looks nice! Would you say those hairs are brown or orange?

Jebus, Labtec, Dr. Dank: very, very nice. Impressive looking cola's...

Update:

4/5 of my SDOG's have balls. :drum: What can you do, ya know? At least I'll have plenty of pollen to harvest...

Making a batch of compost tea (manure compost, kelp meal tied in some cheesecloth, 1TB of molasses in the water, two airstones in the bucket). I made some compost tea with worm castings a couple weeks ago, since then i dont see quite as many fungus gnats around my dirt.

Hey I Do: sorry, I forgot to answer your question from before.
I think the soil is doing ok. i made a mix of mushroom compost, manure compost, old soil, verm and perlite, blood and bone and lime.
It's ok, I think it was a little hot, my plants started out a dark green. Now I think the nitrogen's getting used up, finally. And the mix was mostly compost and old soil, I wish I had put more perlite and vermiculite in, to make it more airy. But overall, it's a decent soil mix, probably not equal to FFOF but if I had used peat, less compost, and more per and verm i could probably make a soil mix the equal of FFOF.
I'm thinking at the end of this soil run I might go back to the bubble tubs, making sure I use Dutchmaster Zone to keep the root rot away... We'll see how this soil tastes, if it tastes good enough I might do soil again. Ideally I would like to run hydro and soil, but that won't happen until i get a tent or two, for a separate veg area. This is my best soil run so far but soil still lags behind hydro in growth rate, at least for me...

hey booey, if you got problems with gnats or fruit flies, try adding a butterwort or sundew in your garden. i have a 2 level window shelf with house plants on it. on each tier i have a butterwort and they seem to attract flies to land on em. it's fun to watch them try to wriggle away and then eventually they just die and get digested through the leaf.

Man, I am impressed every time I come to this thread. My move to tubes seems to have worked, and I got the box lightproofed. I'm working on the second story, which I'm going to fill with tubes and cfls for scrog. This box will not be perpetual, but should yield. I can suppliment my small every two week harvest with a massive harvest every two months.
