I think this thread just turned 1 year old. Happy Birthday. I don't know about anyone else, but I owe a lot to what everyone has shared.

I'm getting a harvest every two weeks now, but still not much yield. The suggestion to veg a little first has been taken and it seems to be helping. The first vegged plants are still a month from chop.

The heat is killing me, and I'm considering switching to cfl or tubes because of my reality.

I have clones stacking up waiting to go in to bud. I made a new cloning tray, and on trial runs it seems to be working. After rooting I've been putting the clones into rockwool and even peat pellets in 2" netpots. Once roots come out of netpots, I put them in a 2 gallon bucket that will hold about a dozen 2" netpots. All this is in a veg box with my mothers.


I've got 3 mothers. NLXBB (it's taken me 9 months to get comfortable that I could salvage this strain. My first run in this bloom box cooked my NLXBB and I feel very fortunate to have a healthy mother)
Trainwreck (not convinced on this strain for me. unconvincing smoke and seems to take more than 8 weeks)
Blueberry (nice and compact. good smoke)
Skunk #1 (15 beans on the way)

In bloom I have 5 2" netpots per 2gal bucket. 4 buckets in bloom box. Staggered every two weeks. I chop trim and put them in dryer everyother Sunday. When dry they go into little mason jars that hold about a 1/4 of dry bud. They are stored in the dark, and get a 5 to 120 min burp every day in the dark. After two weeks the burbings decrease and end. Soon I will be ahead enough that I will get a 4 week cure after burping ends.

Then I will start a long term fridge or freezer storage rotation.

I like how it's all come together. It's hillbilly as hell, but I'm a hoosier so what do you expect.

As I said I'm thinking of abandoning my hps. I can't effectively dissapate the heat. I would turn my box into a phototron of sorts. Isn't that what Phil does? I was also considering a shelf set up with 4'ers right on top of them.

I just got some floranova bloom. I used to use tiger bloom.

Anyone use dirt from the outside? I'm looking at our black midwest dirt and thinkng about using it indoors. Of course, i would mix it up a bit...

IMHO, ur better off buying it....otherwise u need to sterilize it b/c u will also be bringing in the bugs/insects with it..and u'll just have more probs bro...Hope this helps.

Ps, i use shultz moisture plus i think..only for my moms...

I gots a 1K going this summer and my trons.....1K goes on at 10pm and off at 9am and it seems to be working...here are my current trons going...Hope this helps.

another midwest grower jumping in. Been at it this time for the past year. First few grows were bagseed, now I have some genetics, so we'll see the difference.

Hello to all the new faces!
The clones in the peat pellets are showing roots already, the ones in the rootcubes and rockwool, not so much. I wasn't trying to knock Schultz's Rooting Hormone, I'm sure many people have had success with it and swear by it, but I with my screwed up attempts at cloning didnt see much difference. No surprise there.
Dix, I hope you work out your heat problems. If a/c is not a possibility then you may have to switch to a T5 setup. Flouros can be REALLY bright and many here have had dank harvests using them.
I'm happy to see so many elite strains around the midwest, to satisfy all the heads around here.

TRIP REPORT:
I received a beautiful dry white mushroom from Philcuisine a while back. I'm sorry I didn't take a pic of it first.
I ate it on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The taste wasn't bad; it didn't really taste like anything, more like dry vegetable matter than anything else.
I sat back and waited for the effects. Unfortunately, I got caught up in an unedited showing of "Saving Private Ryan" on cable; awesome move, but the stark violence is probably not conducive to shrooming. I did feel a warm, happy glow about an hour in that lasted for 2-3 hours; it was sort of like an mj buzz in that i was relaxed and content.
Well, this taste just whet my appetite for more:
