Yeah, how is everyone doing? I hope well. Nice pictures everyone, definitely got a party going now.
Not much to report, the 2 plants I have have been growing vigorously and I have to keep giving them hair cuts so they fit in my veg box (and had some growth shoots were burned from the light). I got the 6x 2" holes drilled and PVC elbows in place and the 4" exhaust hole. I'm getting my molars out tomorrow but I'm hoping over the weekend I'll feel up to painting and mounting the fan and light. That should pretty much be it.

Well after a few little setbacks and an overflow or three the blumat drip system seems to have finally stabilized. I have been feeding with R/O water plus GeneralHydro Micro and Bloom mixed to around 880ppm 6.0 ph for the last two weeks but added some CalMag with the most recent reservoir change and they are responding well to the slightly higher ppm (light yellowing disappeared). Here are some pics of the current setup:
The strain is Killing Fields (The One x Jack Herrer F2) from this guy. Sativa dominant, hopefully she doesn't stretch too much, a few of the ladies are already reaching for the lights with vigor. Popped 20 seeds, vegged for a month or so, took clones, flipped to flower on the 18th, 15 confirmed females in full flower now. These pics are from Tuesday which is too bad because last night I replaced the old 400w HPS on the left with a new 1000w HPS bringing the total to 2000 watts for this grow and I swear the ladies are already taking notice of the extra light.
I'm looking forward to seeing some purple/pink traits showing in the next couple weeks. More pics then!

This is weird, I had a more recent post on here a few days ago but it got deleted... Ah well.
MtToaker: Whats your LST method like? Is it pretty simple? Just tie it down once or twice and you're good to go?
Greenisgold: Your plants look bushy and healthy! They look a bit yellow under the lights, but Im sure they're nice and green, right?
Jonny: Nice looking buds! Close to harvest I see...
Lost: Are you trying them down instead of always trimming them? Trimming them is good if you need the clones but I can't help thinking they'll veg out faster if you dont cut them so much.
So you only need 6 intake holes instead of 10? How's the temps?
I had my wisdom teeth removed, sucks cause its painful to eat, not that that stopped me...

Ive never had a 1K light before. So its way way more intense than a 400... i wonder if the buds are going to be way more dense also.
What are those, 2 gallon pots of coco in 8 inch overflow trays? That's the setup I would use if I switched to a growtent.
Update on the closet: I uploaded some pics in my last post but like I said for some reason it got deleted. Weird. Anywho, I've actually figured out that my clones are not thriving under HIDs because maybe the res temps are too high. I've started using a rhizotonic beneficial bacteria solution to help the roots fight off bad bacteria, and I think it's working. Will update with pics when I get a chance....

Baba, I think I'll be able to get by with 6x 2" holes. The 4" exhaust hole is equal to 12.56" of surface area, the 6x 2" holes is equal to 18.84" of surface area, nearly 1.5x as much. Of course you have to account for air-flow resistance and all that stuff but 6 is a good place to start. I can always add up to 2 more and not affect where I have to set the pots. I've had to top the Hashberry to keep it down, it's got a crazy amount of growth shoots so it seems like within a day it's where it was. They are as big as they can get for the veg cab that's holding them, I gotta trim 'em down to make sure they'll fit. I wish I wouldn't have had to as many times on the hashberry, it doesn't look as pretty as it once did. However, I've only topped the SDxOG the one time and boy does it look better. I had to cut off the top that had the enormous leaves but some of the lower ones are starting to get that big again. While I'm out today I'm going to find something to tie down the SDxOG, it looks a lot better and I think it will benefit from being tied-down, the hashberry is like a bush now and it doesn't matter.

Plants are green as hell right now and I just hit 3 weeks of flower (it's the lights). I run a modified hood that houses two lights on a mover. In that pic the lights are a 400 cmh and a 270 son t. I switch my lights out like crazy during a grow. Right now I'm running a 400 hps and a 250 cmh. At week 4 I will pull the cmh and add back the son t so I have all hps for the next 3 weeks. At week 8 I will pull the 400 hps and place the cmh and at week 9 it's all cmh for more resin production. Will add some pics in a few days. I grow using LST as well and have been for years now. I usually grow only 4 plants in 3.5 gallon pots and veg them for 6 or 7 weeks pulling them over like crazy. This time I decided to plant more, veg less and put them in 1 and 1.5 gallon pots to see how it works out. In this small space (19 inches by 6 feet I usually yield around 12 oz's but this time I will be lucky to get around 8 based on the fact that all six feet are not taken up. Oh well.

Yep, 2 gallon pots of coco---second run in coco and I definitely recommend it...Blumats are working fine now that they are dialed in, whole watering system cost around $200 all said and done (blumats, tubing, reservoir, air pump/stone, etc). Had some trouble when I first set them up, there was too much runoff and twice the trays overflowed and there was a little water damage to some drywall but nothing a bit of paint won't cover. Now that they are dialed in it's a mostly hands off system. I add 10g of nuted mix to the res every couple days and ph that to 6.0...the blumats take care of the rest. As for the light...the 400w just looked sad next to the 1000w I already had so I made the step up and there is definitely a very noticeable difference in the level of light (hopefully the yield too!).
Question for you all about clones: Have you ever had clones develop purple color up and down the main stem? Is this a sign of rooting? Under feeding? Cold temps? (This is my first time cloning. Did it straight into coco and have been feeding with <100ppm r/o water. Clones were taken 11 days ago.)

Greenisgold: How's those cmh's working out for you? Are they the shiznit, or is it mostly hype? My local hydroshop is selling re-branded Philips bulbs for twice as much as a normal Philips bulb. You think you get a fair amount of uv with those bulbs?
Whatever: I heard coco was a great medium for cloning. I think purple stems could mean underfeeding, if its not a natural trait of the plant (some plants are naturally purple, like Flo). Are they under a dome? Are they in coco plugs?
I added some beneficial rhizobacteria to two tubs and I'm getting heavy, thick root growth starting from the netpot after 3 days.
I added rhizo to this tub last night and I'm seeing a little whiteness starting at the netpot; the rest of the rootmass is brown and not healthy looking. Not slimy or rotted, but definitely not healthy.
I'm really starting to see how important root health is to the overall health of the plant. Really, the rootmass is half the plant, and a lot of issues up top are caused by issues down below.
I'm considering getting GH's Subculture B (bacteria) and Subculture M (fungi) and starting every tub with beneficials to ensure healthy, vigorous root growth and optimum nutrient and water uptake.
Another way to accomplish the same thing is to kill all bacteria in my tub with something like SM-90 or Florashield. I might try both ways and see which works better, introducing bene's or killing everything but the roots. I'm thinking they'll probably give similar results...

I used to live in Illinois until corrupt politicians ruined the state for me. If they pass mmj finally in Illinois I may come back. I sure could have used some help back in college during the early 90s with my closet grows. If only I had MURDA back then.

ohio has slighly better outlooks! not as bad to get busted, but i hope i never do. bring ont the medical laws soon, or better yet, just decriminalize it all together!
Smoke1: You know, not yet. I read on another thread that some sellers on ebay are not all that trustworthy, they might be selling you old tents with the off-gassing problem... I suppose I could research that issue more, but I'm thinking if I do buy a tent it will be a Sunhut from plantlightinghydroponics . com.
I think a tent will definitely be in my future, especially because my closet temps are a little high because of barely adequate ventilation. A tent or two will mean better lightproofing, better odor control, better lights on temps...
