Hey all,

starting a new thread for my second grow ever :) Growing some White Widdow here given to me by a friend.

Will start pics off and post updates :) My first grow, Bc Big Bud, is in in its final weeks before harvest. These plants should move into flowering when the Big Bud is Done.

Hoping to Veg these for a month from today and then throw em into flowering.

best you can do here is snip off the extra cup 1/2 inch above the soil line to prevent heat build up in each cup ...the death valley effect
the far left and far right bulb replace with a warm red with the center being cool white for correct internodel growth

a small fan is good to keep the plants alive, they breath, also removes excess heat

as you want them small why veg at all...?

in time you will see the benefits of growing plants to normal size ..

having weed that can last a month is one?

I was wondering why they looked soo good until about 3 days ago. Then the ystarted all drooping... Was thinking it was over watered but i knew that couldn't be it.

So i chopped off the top extra bit of the cup. We'll see by the end of tomorrow how they fare. Never heard of the death valley effect and couldn't google anything about growing but it makes sense.

You're suggesting replacing the daylight bulbs with more tungsten light? Doesn't quite make a lot of sense based on the kelvin temps that plants receive during the summer. If anything, perhaps one tungsten bulb with 2 daylight bulbs? There are two fans in this pc Veg case. One blowing in, one blowing out. When they are ready they move to the flowering box.

I like to veg because I train them due to small space. My grow spaces are short but wide, so I need to do a little LST to get a better yield from fewer plants. Also, this time around I will most likely veg out a mother and take clones instead of starting from seed.

I grew my first batch from seed and am getting a harvest in about 2 weeks :). Very exciting!

So here are the cups cut. Hopefully we'll see some improvement.

IMO, daylight bulbs (6500k) are better for vegging than soft white (2700k)
I veg all my stuff under 6500k bulbs. I didn't find growth was as good when I tried vegging under 2700k. A mix works ok, but I got better veg growth from all 6500k bulbs.

Right on. Mixed lighting can't hurt, but I wouldn't have more 2700k bulbs than 5600k. Sunset barely gets that red.

I am concerned with how my little plants look though. They started off nice and strong and look now like they are suffering :( Really did not expect this at my second round of growing. Very odd indeed and I'm not exactly sure what's up. Temps are good, not over watering....

Wilting plants is either to wet or not wet enough, but either way its roots zone issues,

tungsten bulb,..? No way stay with your cfl's bit look tot he light color in kelvin
warm red about 2700k, and cool white at about 6500k, and daylight at 4000k, of that 4000k daylight is good, as its about half way between the other two,

you may wanna take your scissors and snip bigger holes in the base in case its water logging thats causing your wilting

great that lightbulbs thoughtfully include a free plant stand nowadays :) rectangular, for two different stacking heights!

maybe try leaving them alone for a few days. looks like they are healthy, just over-watered. don't mist unless the air is really dry, and next time you want to water...wait a day. just relax and don't be too quick about doing anything, they won't die in a matter of minutes or hours. you will usually have time to do research and make a rational decision. i'm still working on this myself haha. your'e doing good though, keep it up and stay positive.

^^just realized i was puffing on white widow #2 as i was typing this^^

I think that's some sound advice Unk1. Will do.

Also added a humidifier in the room. RH was around 25 :( Can't be helping .

I am really new to growing marijuana and I have to do a lot of research... these little ladies are giving classic signs of over-watering. If you have a home depot close buy the have a great little ph and moisture meter that costs 12.99. I just bought one and It is a pretty great little tool.

Hey OC, yeah I have a ph meter. I don't think I would have a harvest on my first grow without it.

They are all a little bottom heavy still so I think they have a little more time to dry out.

Now, the largest one, planted on feb 24th already has yellowing catyldons, so I may give her light nutes next feed as her bottom leaves are also showing signs of N deficiency.

They were root bound, and for too long! The bottom leaves started yellowing and dying but I transplanted her a few days ago and now she's finally growing again and looking healthy up top! Leaves are perky, green looks good, new growth looks nice too. Going to veg them for a month from today and top them at their 3rd node, roughly.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the photos is passing four?

They probably have about 1.5-2 weeks of catchup since htey got stunted in their first cups. But the last two days since the transplant, they have been growing so things are back on track.

No, they were straight from seed. Planted on Feb 24th, then 28th, March 1st and 2nd. Everything kind of came to a halt about 8 days ago.
