I've been running a micro cloner much like these for some time but i clone into a dro setup. I was going to ask how putting them in soil works for you. Any complications?

I used the shoebox size like Caligreen and put 6 cuttings in it.

Was just messing around with an extra cut and put it in one of the small plastic Folger coffee cans and it rooted just fine and later added nutes and had a small DWC and bonzai'd it. Once the root ball got too big I transfered to a 5 gal and finished in that.

no way man, smaller it is the more bubbles for the given area (provided you still maximize the size of the air rocks you use). My cloner is about 6"w x 4"long x 4"tall and i can get 4 in there comfortably.

Nice SomeGuy, I used a 2 gallon container from an ice cream tub and did the same, you can trim them so much with DWC and they just keep comin back. I actually trained mine to run all the way around the edge of the bucket with an even canopy.

I'm just curious if you can transfer these lil puppies to soil before their root systems get too evolved without stunting the plant or doing any damage.

cool i am very limited to height so i can make it long but need it to be shallow. want something where i can put in like 16 clones, can i make something just long and shallow and cram em in?

what would u guys recommend for something like 16 clones?

I'd say try to find a zip lock container for sandwiches and get some really shallow air rocks. otherwise you could put it on a tilt.

If you are in the states just hit all the dollar stores, freds, big lots, walmart and such. They all have great selections of rubbermaid and sterlite containers. If you need something to fit a certain space them usplastics online has containers of every shape and size imaginable.

On mine I just spaced em far enough that the leaves were touching. They dont really leaf out at all as they are concentrating on creating roots. After the roots form then move them to the final container.

Get some of the shoebox size sterlites and give it a try as they only cost a few bucks anyway.

i've got no success so far with mine...but they're in organic sunleaves starter plugs...maybe thats why...the plugs get waaaayyy saturated...and the stems aren't really in the water, it just kinda keeps the plugs wet....I just put another coat of ye 'ole duct tape around the outside...maybe the first layer was still letting light in cause its kinda see-through..hmmm...I guess i'll try to get my stems in the water...maybe cut my starter plugs in half so I can stick out of the bottom...

Hi i'm just wondering how long can i keep some clones going in a bubble cloner like these? I'm trying to get a really healthy root system going before transplanting into gravel pots for my bubblebuckets. Peace

Did anyone ever figure out the best configuration for the lid so that you can get the roots out when they are done while having them be secure throughout?

Wow. How'd you manage to find a several year old thread and miss the cloner sticky at the top of the page? lol... anyhoo...

Cut 1" holes in the lip. Cut 1.25" discs or plugs from neoprene, pool noodles etc. Cut a slit in the disc from center to edge. Slip clone into center of disc. Place disc in lid. The discs larger dia will provide tension to hold it in place.

Personally, I could never get naked stems to work so I use 1" starter cubes in 3/4" holes.

Either way, when roots are established, lift lid and push clones DOWN through the lid. Any damage will happen to the leaves leaving new roots undamaged.
