Michigan dispensaries seem fucked, lets talk about it shall we?

Lot's of food for thought here guys, I like the idea of venues to facilitate connections but cringe at the thought of Provision Centers that under mind the Patient\Caregiver system and the right to grow. Obviously the writing is on the wall for some sort of CO model that would limit our grow rights and make it impossible for us to earn a living, all the while empowering the big guys to line their pockets. Same old BS pay to play tactics is what it will come down too.

I predict the AG will try to go hard and make a massive sweep to close shops based on P2P being ruled illegal by the SC. They will try to starve out the current dispensary owners and large warehouse farmers, then comeback with a Dispensary bill that everyone will be all for after the starve out.
The good thing is prices will go up for good farmers during the starve out, the bad thing is connections will be harder to make as the AG and sympathetic counties will be on the hunt.

I didnt attend the meeting but I know somebody who did...the issue was tabled until March 6th...so nothing changed...yet later that night they went and kicked in KAYA, Im not sure if they charged anybody with anything, but they certainly got robbed by the boys in blue...My friend opted to close his shop for now (caliculture genetics), and word is that the market is re opening..

are you talking about the house bill being proposed right now?

House Bill.. But it's only worth anything to those with deep pocket IMO. And still then deeper pockets want to join only if the Feds lighten up and they may with a per plant tax. Make us buy theirs and home growing illegal.<<just a theory. I believe Canada is going to try that theory out next yr or sooner?

This bill will undermine rights of patients and caregivers.

And who benefits from the gov takeover of cannabis, big pharma maybe but I think the biggest bid comes from the tobacco company's, and by right with their lost profits/lawsuits and antismoking programs need a new revenue source.<<<<another theory.

And pharma has enough money to keep their wheels going, through the insurance lobby which is 100% anti cannabis. Another reason for the tobacco companies to win the bid is for an additional sin tax of course.<<<another theory

To finish my ramble these theories would relate only if the current federal bill passes that let states create their own marijuana policy. I think a lot of talking is going on behind closed doors to keep the little guy out and going after the biggest fish 1st. Just as somebody ^^ said.

Good night everyone peace

"Like entities" could surely be used as a broad scope to include caregivers. Say hello to the regulations! Someone coming to inspect your meds and grow and you get to pay him for it!

That is if you still have the right to grow at all. The language in this bill would make it criminally binding if a local ordinance bans your grow! Cities like Livonia already have these ordinances, but they are currently unenforceable, not for long.

Im so tired of the legislature, greedy, conniving, scum of the earth.

This bill will do nothing positive for honest caregivers. Dispensaries won't want your meds, even if they are better than their own produced in house. C.R.E.A.M. dolla dolla billz yall

Dispensary owners pushed to open this can o' worms and don't give a shit about the caregivers or patients that Sen. Jones and the like are about to screw. If passed, here comes a new round of court cases to see if this bill will be able to infringe upon our existing law, because it will certainly do that.

IMHO -The best that money could buy. If you want "representation",
you have to pay-sad but true. Just maybe one day the "people" will understand.

In order to make progress during this civil war. We as citizens can do what we need to strip the legislatures of their power through the ballot.
1st make it so they cannot overturn voter initiated ballots even with 100%, fuck that 3/4 majority. Then strip their pay and perks then abolish the lobbying. Then and only then would people get true representation from those wishing to "serve the public" not public enrichment.
It would take a few ballots to change their attitudes for sure. The republican party with their toe at the line won't budge on many issues but mmj may be one because they need more youth votes and cannabis reaches far across both isles in our legislature.

The above is just an opinion criticism is expected, peace.

You guys really shouldn't let any of this upset you. I foresee this bill dying out in committee, not even coming close to being put into action. The caregiver patient system here in MI is not and will not be destroyed unless federal legalization is enacted. It take a 2/3 rd house vote to change our MI marijuana laws and these guys can't all agree that the sky is blue.

The Only thing these guys can do is try to CLARIFY the law that is already written in stone not change it. Cities already have the right to ban growing and selling of marijuana this bill does NOT change that.

Agree or disagree? For instance the bills that go into effect in APRIL dont change anything just more clearly lay out things vaguely written in the original bill. Like locked enclosed facility, transportation, doctor patient relationship, etc...

Good points I never thought about, thank you for a bigger picture. I would rep you^^ but can't yet.

Another tip on the fed level. D.C. Is opening their 1st dispensary in early April.
Even though the conversation isn't in the corporate ran newspapers. The gov has to be aware of the Internet traffic around it that they post untrue comments after Internet news stories. For some laughs type weedshop in YouTube search then sign the petition at the end.
Peace and goodnight.

I do not think this will require a 2/3rds super majority to pass. The Walsh package of bills, which are in effect now BTW, did because they directly modified and struck language from the MMMA. This is a bill that will exist along with the MMMA as it is not directly modifying it. It refers to the MMMA in the definitions section as reference for particular terms.

If I am wrong someone please correct me.

Knowledge of any sort in this country is rewarded with Dollars, why should MMJ be any different...?
If One can grow top 5% quality, or specific strains that no one else is willing to grow (sativas, for example)...
As a market Model, they deserve renumeration for their Knowledge, investment, risks and work.
In almost any other Field, such Specialized knowledge would garner quite a premium...>!!

Politically, it is easy to get impatient. We all are..

But, sometimes "Baby Steps" are better than inaction.
Or - an improvement over the Stamping of Jack-booted Camo'd Pseudo Police making big noise.
All I can hope for is Positive Change - regardless - and it often happens by degrees.

First Order of Business amongst activists should be simple -
Legitimization of MJ sales, facilitated for ease of Patients/Clients.

THEN Legalization of recreational use for adults.

Gonna Happen, Folks. Hang in there.

Any updates with the dispensaries here in MI? I assume some are still open. Anyone been going to them? Business as usual?

Last week it was apparently much slower, or so a couple havr said.

I know planb got raided in detroit...dont know if that was related to the new ruling or not.

Its a bit scary with the new rulings and the ag letters that went out to the cops, so my guess is that its too early to say. If they wanted to go to war, suppose they could raid every joint and close em up. But i would imagine that to spark new leg this year for sure. The ag is expressly against the peoples intentions... He has said so. His own personal nightmare when a dip bill comes to pass...he is only pressing the matter but too short sighted and indoctrinated too realize...shit, its his wallet along with his ass that hes fighting for, so its no wonder he keeps pressing. But the politics here run thick, so who the fuck knows.
