Lots more but those are some of my favorites. I'm into Death and Black metal more than the metalcore/ deathcore stuff most people are posting though.
Listen to the album in this track order : 8-9-10-11-1-2-3-4-5-6-7 So, song titles from first to last in this new playing order…
Blood For Blood I`m Your God Now Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies Block Davidian Old A Thousand Lies None But My Own The Rage To Overcome Death Church A Nation On Fire
..for some reason my mp3 player changed the original track order ..but the album sounds helluva lot better whit this “new” play order, for me any way (i'm abit more into progressive music) …a lot more ‘progressive’ album ..like something from Pink Floyd
When I first listen to the album years ago, I didn’t like it that much cause the album sounded some how ‘monotonic’, to me. And when I downloaded the album awhile ago and started listening it through my mp3 player, I thought “whatta hell, when did this start to sound like 'Dark side of the moon' or some other prog-rock concept album??” ..but then I noticed that my mp3 player had changed the track order ..and I have never gone back!
Try it!!
Just listen to this “new” album starter…!!! …see what I mean?
I don't want to list Metallica, Megadeth & Slayer etc.. Basic stuff that everybody lists.
Oh, those bands are mainly Finnish or Swedish. No one else cannot do proper metal anymore(Nothing good from Norway after Dimmu Borgir - Enthrone Darkness Triumphant Lacuna Coil is the exception that comes from Portugal.) and I Think US metal is quite pussy and aimed for little girls these days.
i like all kinds of good rock , from led zep to cannibal corpse (especially with cliff barnes on vocal , just the sickest shit )
ok it starts with ac/dc (till the back in black album , newer ones are crap)
jimi hendrix
led zeppelin
some canned heat
cream
deep purple(original setup )
van halen (listen to the intro of "mean street" van halen is one of the best of all times)
metallica , everything from them im they`r biggest fan! and i love the new album , great!
slipknot
slayer (reign in blood , and seasons in the abyss are KILLER thrash metal milestones! definetley)
skinny puppy (industrial pioneers , with a dark sound
nine inch nails
and much other things of all styles , electro , experimental etc. i like musik very much , especially the overdriven electric guitar
Slayer
Horse the Band <--- not really sure if it's metal... Nintendo metal, they're killer
Lamb of God
Mastodon
Cradle of Filth
Iron Maiden
Iced Eartha
Acid Bath
lol, jesus Holy Mountain!!! I see we list some of same bands.... I listen to lots of different shit though. Been listening to a softer brand of music of lately. Been diggin a lot of Tim Kasher stuff lately. Really anything that's come out of Omaha has been right up alley.
you american guys are too hardcore, not that its a bad thing....im just a bit of a wuss by comparison,,,cant take death rattle by pantera for example, but i can take the planet caravan cover lol
down kicks ass.....nola will always be my #1 album
Definitely some great choices you've got there WeirdJimmy! Metal is one of my favorites overall but by no means can I listen to it all the time, I particularly enjoy a lot of indie music, lots of jazz and spaced out psychedelic rock.
Lost in a sea Pantera's cover of Planet Caravan is totally awesome, it's fun too see a heavy group do such a classic. NOLA is a fabulous album, I like Down III: Over the Under in addition(but not nearly as much as NOLA--total classic!) I'm looking forward to the new album like no other! Speaking of Phil, that split you found done with Iommi is a killer album. That Robin Trower vid you posted is completely awesome man, righteous jams through and through! If you like Robin Trower I would highly recommend the band Causa Sui, though the vocals aren't as present (or nearly as good when he does sing), the instrumentals are pretty solid.

Euphrates I double the cradle of filth conjecture, especially the earlier stuff. What can I say, I like music, but there aren't too many X or Z bands out there...I've FAILED YOU!
