Sorry to hear you had to press the restart button, but those who've been doing this for a while that seek out and take in new cuts, well, this is just part of the game. Broad mites are very hard to spot even with a scope. Literally a 60x will only barely make them visible, 100x or more is better for spotting them. But even then, they don't have movement patterns like other bugs and can sit eating for a while so they simply look like a spec of dust. Hit them with Avid and call it a day.

It's crazy how many good people are on here.:tiphat: Thank you all.

Chaco, broskie those look great and I am always thankful that you take the time to get at the beans I throw your way.

CF, who knows? I sure as fuck don't. I'm just glad it's over. Another member also clued me in that it looked like a virus and maybe bugs had given it to my garden. Too much for me!

DF, I wish ya luck and hope you never deal with the shit storm I just did.

Cob, told ya something was up!

Bench, thanks for the constant postive vibes.

UP, yup you know the deal. If I couldn't get most of my mamas back I would have gone to the poison for sure.

I got those 34 seedlings under a 400.:) Unsure how I'm going to run them, but I've got a bunch of ideas running circles in my head. The main objective is to find a killer mama or two. I'm really hoping the ChemD/Bubba brings the ruck. These things can't veg fast enough.

Craven, for you.

i had a similar issue melty. plants all dudded out. none threw pistils for the first 3 weeks of flower even though some rough looking buds formed. i flushed hard for a week and they seem to be coming along. pistils forming, normal looking buds now, plants recovered but i lost about 3 weeks or so on them. i cant call it and chalked it up to a bad batch of ocean forest. i have a guy local that had the same issue.

My boy BM, I really have no idea. I am only matching symptoms to descriptions I've read/seen and it led me in that direction. Whatever it is, it took on every girl I had! Even the ones that are resistant (Bubba, CC, WCD, Nevilles) ended up just stopping growing showed all sorts of oddball shit. I've got most of my mamas backed up so it'll be all good soon. :tiphat:

Nice Lucy, Bench! :)

EXACT same thing going on here. I first had this happen to me on a Swt#4 clone. You know I've been using FFOF/Pro-Mix Bx blend as well - so I KNOW you didn't have the lime mistake that I did here - and that is what I had chalked it up to. BUT if you had the EXACT same thing going on...I couldn't get them back. I lost the last two rounds to this...and several mothers. 180 gallons ++ of soil...

Seems whatever happened is cleared up...but I am still using same base medium (well, not EXACTLY the same batch...lol) - and NOT having issue now...so..

But also - nearly 1/2 my garden is seed stock this round too...so..

I don't know guys...

I have a 60-100X scope I use and I know I saw a couple of broads first of last week - after lots of researching. But that being said - I know they are not there now. I spent 4 hours looking over EVERYTHING intensely. MAKING SURE. They are not there.

Hope we can get it figured out... :respect:

Entomologists via University of MN say:

Cultural control: Broad mites are very sensitive to heat. Lowering infested plants into water held at 43 to 49C for 15 minutes will destroy broad mites without damaging the plants...

Perhaps we have a solution...

-And from the University of North Carolina:

Host Plants: Broad mites infest African violet, ageratum, azalea, begonia, dahlia, gerbera, gloxinia, ivy, jasmine, impatiens, lantana, marigold, peperomia, snapdragon, verbena, and zinnia.

As a typical pest management strategy - these bugs WILL GO to these plants over your cannabis plants. They simply like them better.

Or if you have these various plants in or around your home - don't be surprised if you find a broad mite or two in your garden...as you may track them in very easily. Once in - they settle on whatever they can find...ie your cannabis.

In case you could use some cheering up melty...

Popped 8 or 10 master kush x BG. Flippin tonight! There are 2 phenos that I'm seeing. Christmas tree indicas, and the ones I dig more look more like a good balance between the two. Lots of branching and a little stretchier. I've got a good feeling.

Wanted to mention...since I commented freely about the broad mite issue...

They have returned from some where some how. So I'm back to treating. Girls are just bouncing back from the last spray down...not sure how they'll take another.

That in mind, I listen to those school folks. I'm going to try to set up a turkey frier...filled with water and warmed to the right temperature...

This is mad scientist enough in my book to warrant a few pictures. Maybe I'll suffer it out and be the one who can verify a non-chemical fix for these bastards...

Fighting back. That's a clother dryer spill tray filled with a nice soil mix, slight tilt on it with some holes drilled in the corners for drainage. 16xCrack/Bubba, 9xChemD/Bubba, 9xKarma's SourBrother. I have better pics of them, they just won't upload for me.

Starting these today. NewHouse's '91 x SFV/App aka Deliverance, Bubba'91 x White'91, TheWhite x GrapeKrush and some MNS G13-Widow.

Heya Melty - I have learned from your example - IF YOU HAVE BROAD MITES -

Just chalk it up - and clear house.

I've followed suit..
