Does diatomaceous earth do anything for gnats? I know it will kill some bugs by cutting them excessively....
Do not know F..The problem is that I see them flying around everywhere now.Netting idea came yesterday, will do a grow room clean up,and, see what the outcome will be

Try the yellow sticky pads used in agriculture, I have the same problem right now and in one week hundreds of gnats glued themselves on the traps.
Also another option, I learned from CodyPomeray, is using perlite on top of the soil mix. Should prevent the gnats to reach the soil where they lay eggs for the next generation of these suckers.

"inch or 2 of perilite on the pot helps out for fungus gnats when biologicals are not a solution. Normally i use spinosad root drench if i am not worried about my soils micro life, if i am running a full organic crop i worry about the micros in, i just do inch or 2 of perilite. They cant get through the shit and after a week or two they die down substantially as they are unable to keep laying eggs."
"Throw the perilite in a bucket outside and wet the fuck outta it first. Always was a solid approach for me because them fuckers cant crawl through it. Some folks recommend sand, but then you got a fuck ton of sand you need to deal with in your containers."

Sounds like a good idea.

Cheers

Just had a quick look at CP's perlite solution.I think I've seen that done,or similar, outdoors with trees?White washed tree trunk, and, white washed gravel laid around tree stem?
Cleaning grow room tomorrow, will try the perlite, and, yellow strips again
Thanks K.

Congrats on your Killer A5 Haze harvest DNM1 :)

Looking at your pics i think you feed her with too much N during flowering, based on her lanky tall structure, deep green color of the leaves at harvest time and too much leaf in the buds.

I would need to smell and smoke the finished product to provide a more accurate judgement, but looks like your pheno was quite Malawi dominant although the brownish pistils is a typical trait of the A5.

The Zamaldelica looks very promising ;)

Thank you Dubi for these wonderful strains :)
I had to take KA5H from grow room, and, thought a sunny day as it was then, will give me a better "view".Wasn't sure if she was done
Spicy, peppery aromas when I took her out.Involved n the food industry for some years, after I sat down,Mexican spicy?
First taste, gave a" meaty"/blood flavour, then I thought better do my chores for the day, and, then come back and maybe return her to grow room
Half an hour later I was crying my eyes out laughing, on my own, because one of the things I had to do, was to go the to my bank and pay my electricity bill :).
Have I mention I've been smoking for almost 40yrs
In the evening I realised I was dealing with a strong "trippy weed",and, that I haven't found the words to print yet, maybe because, the trip became very personal, lasted for a few hours, then like a baby she put me to sleep
This morning without trying her I feel physically a bit tired, relaxed, and,my mind is very peaceful, and, very very happy
:)
Not for my friends to try

hehehehe the early smoke report sounds very promising :D

Seems she carries the profound and long lasting complex and overpowering effects of A5 and Malawi, she will devastating after a proper cure.
Glad she has the 'trip weed' quality to her and that you are so far pleased with our genetics. Thanks for all your frequent updates.

Back to reality with a problem I've not mentioned
Gnats. They are everywhere, especially now plants have been coming out of grow room
Trying out some very thin wire messing, to see if I can avoid any kind of "treatment",and, contain them somehow

https://www.amazon.ca/Nema-Globe-Beneficial-Nematodes-S-Feltiae/dp/B01N5TYSFU

These were very effective for me in stopping gnats. I used to use h2o2 and it works but wasn't 100% effective. The nematodes were 100% effective/natural and didn't interfere with other beneficial soil micro-life.

It's a long drive and i'll need to get flotation tanks fitted to my car before the trip.
Seriously though, if you can keep those steaks warm (i love steak, and those look gooooooood) til fall i may just take you up on that, i see a mediterranean vacation in my near future.... :dance013:

Europe is beautiful :)
Mediterranean countries happen to have the beach at their doorstep
My friends like travelling.Very rare we travel together these days, but once or twice a month, we get together, smoke, eat good, music etc
Good weed is the catalyst, and, without them knowing :),the night before the BBQ,they tasted KA5H
Like what she did to me,half an hour later, laughter,giggles.......
Oldschool fun
