mazar vs g13

[pfft.]

this summer i'm growing some mazar and g13. both in dripfeed + bubbler combo hydro systems. mazar is from feminized seed and g13 are from cuttings from a friend.

here's the very first pics of the grow on may 17th, when mazars just got up and cuttings were planted in the other hydro to root.

Here's pics every other day. looks like g13 are outgrowing the mazars, any advice how to keep them even? both have their own hps lights, i got 400+250w side by side. should i top the g13's? never done that before so i'm a bit nervous. also would they hog even more space after topping? i'd like mazars to have a chance too ... also, when to flower?

i liked afgani before and i love the fat leaves on this strong afgani cross mazar. what to say about the g13, oh well

day 11 of flowering. plants are healthy and green even though i haven't had ec meter for a week now. g13 are showing many pistils, and mazars a little bit behind with preflowers showing.

Here's pic of the g13 tops on day 18 bloom. starting to look promising. maybe total of 20 tops so far peaking through..i'm not very good with scrogging, but the tops are quite even and flowering has started quickly so i wont tuck them down anymore, and hoping they wont stretch much more. 3 mazars are showing hairs but mostly they look like in veg still..... i'll put pics of them once they pick up the pace. hope they too dont stretch much, i'd like to see the christmastree like looking indicas for once, with big main cola. here's hoping..
anyway, still maybe 2ft height in the cabinet to raise the the lights, and this being the 3rd week of bloom, i'm still optimistic and hope the plants dont go overgrow on me.

here's two more pics.. taken today. tops of biggest mazar and the whole bunch in the second pic. mazars have stretched beyond my expectations, perhaps it's time to ease up on the nitrogen? i've given them pk the highest recommended amount but too much nitrogen at the same time perhaps, in the form of bionova hydro supermix. i just want the leaves to stay green as long as possible, but they grow height so fast i have to rethink the fertilising regime..4" the last 2 days. still no ec meter, so i'm just watching the plants and try to figure out what they want.

Hey pfft.,

I'm not sure what your situation is, but it looks like those plants might overgrow their current room during the stretch. If you have the capability, you might benefit a lot from separating them and letting them flower in separate spaces, especially since you have 2 lights. I know it would be a pain and all, but I suspect your yield would increase enough to make it very worth your while. What do you think? What do others think?

KT: youre right about the limited space. now i'm LSTing the very modestly branching mazar tops, g13 nugs are a little uneven and competing for light, but they've got another 2ft room to grow vertically, tallest ones i'll try maybe tuck in back under the net?
you guys think the stretch will slow down soon? as buds start to fill in?

Nice plants !!! dont worry about space, just get fans. I grew 2 plants in a 2x3x5 space and yielded a half pound. they were packed to the MAX!

yesterday was day 37 of flowering. mazars are disappointingly sparse, and aren't branching much probably due to too early flowering. g13 are much better off as can be seen from the pictures. yesterday i sampled a tiny bud of the latter, already very potent and pleasant high. ec is around 0.9-1.0mS, i've been giving ~2ml/L bn hydro supermix and 1.25ml/L pk 13+14, ec is stable but ph keeps going down quite rapidly, requiring phup daily along with ph8.5 tap water. i really should try diamond nectar or some other ph buffer but haven't got money to get some right now.
