ive grown out mazar 3 grows and im now on my 2ns last go with them. i have 3 mazar moms i try to get rid of - since i dont think they are worth cloning and keeping any longer. i hope they give me some big last buds,,, but they wont be potent,, i kow thet by now. for an indica its really not anythng to remember besides it lookds pretty,.

i decided to make BHO with one of them and ice hash from the rest. maybe concentrated it will be better (respect to KICC - hope u all boys and girls are ok ;) ).

anyway - nice shots - the white pheno is the one i have.

peace bro

just for posterity and to maybe clear things up as what i believe some of you have seen/grown is in fact 'Mazar i-Sharif' not 'Mazar' which some would call a 'watered down' version.

let me just say that those tests are utter bullshit, if its retained its "20%" THC it would be devestating pot floral or not LOL the other thing is them saying they improved on yield, well, for one thing, i've seen both grown in the same op side by side (not in person) and the yield on the MIS was substantially BETTER than the Mazar, the landrace makes baseball bats in ideal conditions, the cross made tighter sparkly skunk-like spear shaped phatties, but quite barren, no where near as nice a haul as the MIS Landrace/IBL.

goes to show most breeder descriptions are just marketing ploys and one should not read too deeply into them, yet research the strain themselves on sites such as the one we have here.

be well

Great report sunny, but I think you should recheck your facts because at the 1999 cannabis cup second place was el nino by greenhouse. Mazar didn't even place that year. Other than that though great report. I have grown mazar several times and it is truly a classy strain. NC

no nickcorp...I believe I am right. Mazar won second prize in both the 1999 High Times and the 2002 High life contests...

Are you sure you're talking about the "Cannabis Cup" and not maybe the "indica cup" In the 1999 cannabis cup I am quoting out of High times May 1999:
1st place Super Silver Haze/Green House

I'm pretty sure Mazar took second place in the indica cup that year.

I have grown Mazar a few times and use it as my med. strain.I am not sure how long you growers flowered her and what colors the trichromes were but i let mine go for 10 weeks of flowering and trics 60% amber. They were potent to me. The small christmas tree type were the most potent and gave the best high.

No matter what seed descriptions tell you about harvest times...you should always watch your trichs to determine ripeness. I let this pheno go around 65 days, or until the trichs are ripe...give or take a day or two depending on the grow. Some grows she would finish faster than others... Either way, when she was ripe, she was good, but not nearly as satisfying as others I've grown and sampled. She is hella potent, but kind of reminded me of the Arcata TW...too much head and not enough substance for me.

Smoke reports are extremely subjective...I can sit down with a group of friends and a jar of finely cured herbs and get everyone stoned to the bone, but at the end of the day everyone is going to recall the experience a bit differently. Cannabis is such a personal experience and everyone reacts to the stimuli a bit differently. I like the variation :)

I suffer from severe anxiety and slight depression...I smoke herbs to help my head. I prefer heavier, stonier buzzes that calm my nerves...the heady herbs sometimes make my condition worse.

I wanted to add that I grew only one phenotype of mazaar that was selected by a friend. I have no doubt that there are stronger phenotypes available. I do know of several growers that grew mazaar for weight. They agreed...good tasting, strong pot, just not personal stash quality.

kokoa,
You are right that if used for anxiety and depression there is better strains to be used. What would you recommend for people that are sativa sensertive.

Hashplant, Sensi Star, Bubblegum, and White Rhino are good anti-anxiety strains. All are mostly indica highs.

I grew a pack of Mazar in 2004, and started a new grow from seeds (bought in 2007) remembering how great it was on first time. I now have two ladies 6 weeks in flowering and they're both very different from ones I had earlier. I wonder if it's just my luck, or has Mazar changed... These are skunkier than I expected, smell is same familiar though. They grew a lot taller also this time and seem to take at least 9 weeks of flowering. Setup has changed a little from earlier grows, it might have influence also.

Which ones will not lock you down.

WR, Sensi star, Kodiak Gold, Somatooth, Calf. Hashplant, Hindu Kush (Kiwiseeds), Chemo, Mikado, Shirin gol, shirin Mango,Blue Moonshine etc.

I would prefer Hindu Kush or Dark Kush, Chilla as they have more CBD than others.DONT go for high THC... thats what makes u panic.. LOTS OF CBD for anxetiy.

Peace :rasta:

Hello people

in a week 2 clones of Mazar DP's will be here with me, so i started to find out what i have to expect from it ... I was looking for a nice last smoke in the night, a heavy indica stonish. Reading this topic i can see maybe I will have to choose the indica pheno. i will posting its pics soon, but can someone tell me what is your clone rate% and your availiability to LST' it ?

cheers from brazil
