If you are using an active exhuast (fan) with passive intake (no fan) you want to have an intake with at least twice as much area than the exhuast to allow for full efficiency of the fan as well as creating negative pressure so no odors leak from the grow.

If using an active exhuast (fan) in conjunction with an active intake (fan) You'll want the exhuast fan to move more air than the intake fan, otherwise you'll create positive pressure in the grow and unfiltered smelly air will be pushed out any cracks, holes in the grow.

Gotchya!

Just hooked up the inline fan on the intake, and moved the speed control from the exhaust to the intake fan and WOW

Wayyy cooler so far - 72*!

That's with the exhaust running at 100%, and the intake speed control on low

Thanks for the input!

72°F in the tent/grow is spot on in the optimal range which IMO is 70°F to 78°F.

I would shoot for a tad warmer, like 75-78F. Low 70's can slow growth.

the rule for passive intake is 12"x12" or 144sqr" for every 300CFM of fan

Below 65°F growth slows down.Much cooler and it can stop all together. This is especially evident in equatorial sativas.
