I'm thinking about running a 1/2 soil, 1/2 DWC setup as an experiment. 6 and 6 or maybe 4 and 4. Total noob to DWC, but ive got a couple soil grows (in and out) under my belt.
Anybody running DWC buckets? Id really like to see the setups, I love people with nice and clean DWC rigs.
Are the yeilds significantly greater? I would assume so.. I think the big debate is that hydro is easier to control...whereas if you have a problem with soil you can't just flush the whole system and fix the problem..
How do you guys feel about a 400w in an (approx....odd dimensions like 3.8deepx4.2widex7+high..) 4x4 room. Should I just go for a cooltube 600 or something? I don't want my plants to stretch or not be getting enough light.
Was also thinking about a 400w and a fuckton of t5's?
I dunno I just tore thru the morning bowl and had to get on IC....

Just put a GDP in a GH waterfarm and a FFA in a home rigged DWC bucket. I am a newb too at it. Did it once and got so so results........not enough light cuz they get huge quick. i'd say rock a 600 atleast and do 4 buckets. Or just do a rubbermaid DWC and put like 6 cuts in it and veg it shorter.
I'm running some PBP,cal-mag(weak to start), sweet, and B'cuzz root in both systems for the rooted clones. gonna play it day by day.
very simple DWC system..............just a net pot with hydroton sittin in a 5gal pail................couple air lines and thats it. I have the water level up to the roots until I see them come out and hang then I lower the water level and it ON!

Wake up NE there's work to be done!Clean those scizzors, burn up all that leaf while the neighbors are asleep,take a puff have some coffee.I just chucked a 5gal bucket of leaf into the woodstove and it was crammed full.Then I went out to check the wind.Ass backwards, the whole 'hood is gonna be high.At least its too cold for cops to get out of their cars.My house is sourrounded by smoke and the stove is making that howling sound.Live and learn.If my old lady smells that I'm DONE!Off to the double d bathroom... 
OH YEAH rifishman, I did the same thing last winter 16 Banghi Haze in two eurogrowers under 3khps.What a yield and some real fine smoke, no doubt.I was cutting for days.Those eurogrowers bang out some serious wieght!!

I started flowering New Yrs Eve so its like day 70-72 for me.
Starting my flush this week and Im going to try the molasses thing.1 TSP per gallon.I figure it cant hurt em.
Sooooo..did anyone catch the news last night?
that kid in New Bedford got popped with 65 lbs. 
wife and 4 yr old on tha run.bad news man.my heart goes out to them. Good Luck with that!

rifishman I'm pretty sure I took those Banghi's to 80 days.If they are still putting out new flowers I keep 'em going.A couple of my Orient Express went to 90 but some were done at 70.The Banghi was more uniform as far as pheno and finish.I got about 3lbs from those f%#kers apart from a bunch of IBL sour d and some thseeds Kushage.Great winter last year, then I filled those euros with my White Russian cut and ain't no need to say how that went... Chaco.

Chaco. 80 days huh! Yikes! They are freakin huge now at around 52 days. I can't imagine letting them do another 30, but am keeping a keen eye on the scope to watch the trich's. Thanks for that info. I am getting impatient and so want to try this stuff, but will certainly wait for the right moment.
I did my first Eurogrower last winter with some Mr. Nice G13xHash and they came out spectacular as well. It was my first and I learned alot, but well worth it. Had one plant in the EG that was a Marley's Collie that I had snagged at Sensi Seeds in Amsterdam and that was the best smoke I have had in years.
Heading back to Amsterdam at end of April. Fly out on the 19th and arrive on 4/20. How funny is that? Amsterdam on 420. I feel it is going to be a fun trip this year.

Ah, what a die-hard ICer! It would be awesome to go to the 420 cup, meet up w/ a bunch of ICer's! Seems way more fun than the HTCC.
I made it to OG yesterday, got bales of promix & perlite. Few things they didn't have I needed, but I made do.
I sprung for the Hygrozyme, Delta & Lune!
Be interesting to see now that I have a few runs w/o it, just what it'll do w/ the same strains. Chaco, you can't just discreetly dump that shit off some woodsy road? I swear, most growers do it in part for the adrenaline rush of getting away w/ it!

What's up NE? Been awhile since I posted, and just wanted to say thanks to some of your posts, I decided to get a set of bubblebags. I only got the one gallon set, but I did get the 8 bag set. Figured I'd try it out and if I really like it, may step up to the 5 gallon bags at some point. I don't have tons of trim anyway. Thanks for the posts and pics guys. I'll post some pics when it's finished. I should be getting them by the end of the week.

I'm going to have to finally check out OG, last time I went on their site they didn't have their stock listed (this was months ago) so I didn't even bother going to check it out. Hopefully be picking up some floros for a mom area soon.
Alpha diesel seedlings are doing fine, the ones that made it up anyway.... only got 4 to sprout, odds are it was my fault but oh well ya live ya learn (I think the pH of the water I germed them in might have been off ). Nothing special there quite yet but I'll be sure to keep all you gents posted.

Morning NE the artist formerly known as MUCHA LUCHA has returned.I'm sure I wasn't really fooling y'all but I wasn't really tryin'.MUCHA just ran into MUCHA t r o u b l e last month and had to dump my account.My buddy pigpen started drinkin' again and I found myself talking with too many cops.My old man is a crazy alchoholic and a 'nam vet who gets himself into all kinds of shit.Anyway pigpen grows and I'm his only buddy and had to bail him out of the pokey rather frequently in late Jan early Feb.Anyway we all know the booze routine....the bank is foreclosing his house in April.He's been cutting bud and leaving the trim on the floor for a year, no shit its deep, thtas why I call him pigpen.Anyway I wanted to post some old pics y'all have seen for rifishman to ease his mind about his Banghi.So rifishman these are my OE at 70 days, and the last pic is the same plant as the second pic at day 90.ACE does have some rep...

The one thing about the Promix, is it's really compressed, and needs to be run thru a gardener's screen.

Hey Chaco I know that path yr pal pigpen is going down,I spent 10years walking the same path,only my monkey was in a syringe,until I ran into a friend who threw me 10g's of shrooms.I hadn't tripped in at least 7 years at that point(this was 3 1/2years ago)and since I had no $$ to stick in my arm I gobbled down the whole bag.
Needless to say,it was intense,revelatory and chakra-opening.A week later I kicked that monkey off my back and haven't gone back. I contribute this life change 100% to the power of psilocybin. I have a few friends who had similar experiences as well. Maybe it'll work for pigpen too.Feel free to PM me and I can 'elaborate' further..... :wink:
