Your new price for the SP250 is $299 for a 230w unit. I pointed out that you can buy a 320w HLG setup for under $250 all parts included, as long as you are willing to spend 45 minutes to put it together. How does that make your price lower than them?

the mars guy will 'never' answer your question...

Well, if HLG has enough stock, that is a good option. It is your own choice to select suitable light.
But for now, we have to increase the price a little to control the stock due to the virus.

They were definitely affected by the virus, and were out of stock on the QB96 elite engines for a bit, but they are back in stock now, and the best part is that they never raised their prices.

If HLG had to ship assembled lights to China right now I would imagine that they might need to raise their prices. Since they're based in the United States they probably don't have to raise prices in order to ship nationally. Besides that, I think that Mars' answer to your question was perfectly respectable so I don't know why you're still ragging on them. They even said the HLG was a good option. I get it, China ain't very popular at the moment but I don't think that Mars had anything to do with what's going on. Their new lights are actually pretty good too.

Ragging on them? I didn't say one negative thing at all. Since when is it wrong to have a polite discussion regarding options and prices?

Ya. Ragging. After their last response I would have been like, "Ya, okay I guess that makes sense. Ya, the HLG is a good light I think I'll buy one.". Maybe you genuinely didn't think about the fact that HLG isn't shipping assembled lights to China right now. Heck, if you want a deal from HLG you gotta assemble it yourself or else you're paying a decent premium. Either way, for myself the Mars was the better deal. Still is in fact because HLG prices in Canada are nowhere near Mars even after the increase, more like somewhere between the orbits of Uranus (lol) and Neptune.

Guy, you are creating a fight when there doesn't need to be one. I'm not sure why you seem to feel somehow insulted because you bought a Mars light, and I suggested alternate options, which are less expensive. Also I'm fairly certain the diy HLG setup I suggested earlier is still less expensive on HLG Canada's site than the Mars light I compared to. There's no need to fight. I don't care what you choose to buy.

I'm not fighting. This isn't a fight. Honestly I don't even care about what light anybody gets. I say buy the best light that you can afford to buy. I'm just dipping my toes into the LED thing and I heard these were really good lights at a good price point. I was checking out Amazon and this thing popped up and it was well priced compared to the competition at the time that I bought it. Kind of an impulse buy. If a comparable HLG was the same price I would have probably bought that. These lights are kicking ass so far though.

Damn another jump on amazon? They 309 now for an sp250. If u plan on getting one highly recommend going through they sight, I prefer amazon cuz they faster with delivery but that price made 4 jumps in the last 3 weeks.

On a side note, wouldnt it be better to sell them out and be out of stock then to raise prices to prevent sales? If out of stock a customer might wait till they come back in, but with a raised price tag u might loose that customer for good to competition, they might not look back in your direction. Just a thought...

Its called price elasticity. It'll be the accountants playing with the price to generate the max profits taking max current production and average sales into account. The only way the price will drop is if people stop paying a higher price.

Lovin' my SP250 and MH tent so far. Just wish I had more space in my tent (was trying to do things on the cheap so I bought a 4 x 2 tent, vegging plants are getting wide, wish I'd had the funds to spring for a veg tent and a flowering tent).

Yes, we want to control the sales since the stock is very tight now. Due to the virus, the new supplement is hard to be ready now. :cuss:
Sorry guys, it is the idea of our boss. If you have purchase plan, i suggest you to hold on or choose other options.

A few pics, first crappy shot was 2 weeks ago, second last week, and final one is from earlier today (all 7 days apart). I think I had the light too low until a few days ago. Plants seem happier now.

Yep. Im guessing alll the quality grow lights at lower prices going to continue to raise, as they competitions quality isnt much better and the price is way higher.

Thing is they are around the same price now, not way higher.
