dope is basically illegal at the behst of the tobacco companies-along with the brewers distilleries and petro-chems and pharaceuticals, im back on the cigs and i hate myself-paying 85 percent of the price in tax to a corrupt government and the rest rewarding the baccy companies for their part in the conspiracy..... so remember every time you buy a pack of cigs-you are helping to fund and indeed pay for prohibition! the baccy companies registed trademarks of columbian gold and other strains and were going to sell weed-unti they realised how it would imact their main buisness.....

There are a few endocannabinoids and other fatty acid amides that occur naturally in the human brain that effect both 5-ht and dopamine receptors. Oleamide (cerebrodiene, oleic acid ethanolamide) which is similar to anandamide (arachidonic acid ethanolamide) except it has an oleic acid molecule instead of arachidonic acid as the unsaturated fatty acid part of the molecule. Oleic acid was first discovered in feline brains, then porcine brains, then human brains. Cannabinoids that occur in cannabis possibly interfere with fatty acid amide hydrolase (faah, the chemical that breaks down anandamide and causes its very short half life) thus increasing amounts of naturally occuring endocannabinoids like oleamide and anandamide.

The tobacco smoked by native americans in both north and south america are much much stronger than what is contained in most cigarettes. Like mriko said tobacco is both an entheogen and also a luxury to be considered one of the finer things in life. Yes some tobacco manufacturers are pretty immoral so are candy co's oil co's chemical co's pharmaceutical co's should I go on? The whole process of smoking cannabis is considered by most the have originated with tobacco (thogh there is reason to believe otherwise also). Cannabis coffee coca opium and tobacco among many many others when grown and processed by someone who is well experienced takes pride in their work are things to behold and respected.

I happen to think tobacco is a pretty devious plant myself. I stupidly got hooked into smoking right when I turned 18. I'll be turning 21 in a couple weeks and I'm proud to say I haven't had a single tobacco product for 13 days. This is the second and hopefully final time I'll be quitting. I managed to stay away for a couple months thanks to a strong acid trip but got lured back into under the guise of spliffs. I eventually got sick of the way my lungs felt, coughing all day, and how I was hocking up plegm every morning and all day. The phlegm would be so bad in the morning it would make me nauseous and I could never eat breakfast. I had only been smoking for 3 years, and not even that much! I can't imagine being a smoker for decades.

I think the reason we ex/non-smokers think of tobacco as an evil plant is because its the only way to help beat the addiction. I know perfectly well that a plant is amoral, but it sure helps my personal conviction to tell myself that tobacco is a nasty, evil and insidious plant. It sure doesn't help cravings to think of it otherwise. I would never advocate for it being illegal however. Everything should be a personal choice.

edit - its only been 2 weeks since I stopped and my lungs already feel like a million bucks again. and thats with daily marijuana smoking still!
